Yes. The update on the moto site (as of this date) is merely an operational update that fixed a resetting/rebooting issue. Still waiting for the 6.1 update...

The 6.1 update was only up for about an hour before they took it down. I think only one person was able to get it. The update that is up there now fixed the rebooting issue.

I was able to get the update too. I was just lucky. Wasn't really looking for 6.1. I was excited when my phone rebooted with 6.1 on it. That joy only lasted about a week when I hooked my phone to my pc again to see if there was an update. The motorola software said that there was so I "updated". My phone restarted with 6.0 on it as a result. Now I am back to waiting like everyone else for 6.1. It's ok to laugh.....

I just got off the phone with the USCC data stream technical support team. Because I was bored, and I'm that guy, and I like to ask questions that I pretty much already know the answer to, I asked when the 6.1 update was going to be available for the Q9c. I was surprised to be told that not only will the phone not be updated to 6.1, but that the phone was not capable of being updated from 6.0. The rep advised me that the HTC 6900 was the only phone they were going to carry with 6.1 on it. When I asked her how that was possible that the phone could not be updated in any way, being that I updated my phone myself to fix the rebooting issue as so many of us have, she told me I must be mistaken, because that wasn't possible with the software and hardware configuration of the phone.

I have several issues with this conversation.

1. Evidently US Cellular needs to hire people that actually have some technical knowledge to work in their technical department.

2. The phone is updateable, I just performed the rebooting update not too long ago, and the same hardware on different networks is running 6.1.

3. The USCC rep basically called me a liar in response to me telling her I had updated the software to fix the rebooting issue.

I'm starting to become very disenfranchised with US Cellular, ever since I bought one of their smartphones. Any issues I have had have been met with ignorance from their technical people and rudeness from their CSR staff. Any thoughts from anybody else?

I agree with you. They don't know what they are talking about. USCC support is very inconsistent. Sometimes you get someone that knows what they are talking about and sometimes you get someone who's feeding you a line of bull but has no idea what they are talking about.

Yeah, it's always a trick to find somebody who really knows what is going on. I don't know if it is a training issue or a management issue, but it definitely needs some work.
