EVDo is only available in Wisconsin right now. Plans were for expansion of EVDO but there is no time frame that I am aware of. As for their services changing, what is it specifically you are trying to ask?

There is no EasyEdge when it comes to the Motorola Q or the BlackBerry's. They require "thier own" data packages - the Q has unlimited data for $24.95 and the BlackBerry has it for $39.95 a month - these are an additional charge to your regular rate plan if you are using either as your phone and data device. There is a $24.95 plan for the BlackBerry that only allows 4MB of data per month, but considering one email attatchment you downwload may be a meg or two, its really not worth taking the chance, especially when its a penny per KB if you go over the 4MB limit.

On the Q that I own, I just email the pictures to someone's phone or to an email address - there is no picture charge since that is part of the unlimited data plan, which for the $25 or $40, should be included :-)

oh that sounds pretty great. i do the same with my q. but im looking into the pearl because its a bit small than the q. plus i like the trackball on the pearl. but its kinda hard finding the negative things about the phone. i love my q but i also like the pearl. i might want to get it in march. but the thing is idk how easy it would be to find application and themes for it. or a forum like eq. this forum is great.

Unfortunately, the Blackberry is not my strong point

A co-worker has one and trying to copy a single ring tone and set it up as the default ring tone took me 20 minutes. Maybe its just me, but I find the BlackBerry very unintuitive. But I am so used to how Windows works, that maybe I am biased. People I know that own a BlackBerry love them.

The Pearl is definately smaller, and with its new features are pretty much aiming towards the main stream of customers. The one drawback I saw, and its a personal preference, is the 2 letters per key, unlike the one letter per key for the Q. But according to RIM, the predictive texting is suppost to be one of the more intelligent predictive texting out there.

oh. your right its all depends on the person. i might try the pearl 2 but idk. i got an email from usc. and they said that its no mms capable unless u use the emailing method. and that when evdo will not be capable when it gets released they said that the evdo would work on there easyedge data network and since the smartphones dont support easyedge they said evdo wont affect the smartphones but i think there wrong? any ideas. plus if i get the pearl and i dont feel it suits me i have 30days to return it.

That is correct, there is no picture messaging on the Blackberry or Q. You do need to send/receive via email.

Right now, unless in Wisconsin, all phones, whether they use EasyEdge or the smartphone data network, its all the same, about dial-up speed. Smartphones are EVDO capable, just gotta have the network in place to use.

And yes, you do have the 30 day satisfaction guarentee if you arent satisfied. Just make sure the phone is in new-like condition when it gets returned, if you do go that route.
