Right now, unless in Wisconsin, all phones, whether they use EasyEdge or the smartphone data network, its all the same, about dial-up speed. Smartphones are EVDO capable, just gotta have the network in place to use.

And yes, you do have the 30 day satisfaction guarentee if you arent satisfied. Just make sure the phone is in new-like condition when it gets returned, if you do go that route.
oh okay. thank you for the information. i have a question though. i was wondering why tmobiles old pearl is capable of using a text message as a pic/video message. i looked a a new pearl the 8130 and it has the option to send it like tmobile. Another thing does anyone no when 2 year contracts are aviable for upgrades i though it was 18-20 months before the contract is up. as the earliest. but a uscc employee said that was incorrect. and i got if from their website. my contract ends on the 8-30-08. i had another employee tell me i can get promotional price by march. the 18-20month early rule fits the the employee answer which was march. any ideas?

Not sure about how TMobile's system works, but all phones can send SMS messages, but with USC, as soon as you try and send an attachment, its actually a MMS or picture msg which on USC smartphones, are not available. As a matter of fact, when setting up your account up with a smart phone, the USC system won't allow the MMS feature code to be placed onto your account. Since its not on your account, you will not be able to use it (sort of along the lines of not being able to use EasyEdge if you do not have that feature on your account).

With USC, you can renew your contract on any line once you have reached the 80% mark; i.e. if you signed a 2 year contract and that contract expires on 8/30/06, then you can renew that line 4 months earlier on 5/1/08. if you had signed a 1 year contract, then you can renew 2 months earlier.

Hope that helps out

Wrong. The Pearl is the first USC smartphone that supports MMS in its native form. It does require a MMS package/SOC code.

I stand corrected, Candor's is correct; they did add the ability for the Pearl to send picture messages unlike the Q or previous Blackberry's. A SOC code is merely a code USC adds to your account to allow a feature. So, with the Pearl, you can indeed send a picture msg just like you would on a Razr.

Camera or Multimedia Another U.S. Celluar Motorola Q owner

Hello,

I bought my Q phone from U.S. Cellular around two months ago and I am not extremely happy with it. Like most of you now know and that I kind of figured out on my own, while using the Internet calls go directly into voicemail. I had Outlook set-up to automatically download email, but I was missing too many messages.

And another issue I have is that I like to use IMs and have since removed it because I assumed that Palgrino was causing me to miss calls, but that may not be the case.

And I have had problems with sending email so USCC had me delete my email accounts and set them all up again. I did that and it worked.

I think that Windows Mobile 5.0 sucks and was told that the Q isn't upgradeable to 6.1.

I would recommend this phone but maybe not USCC as the carrier for the phone.

USCC always sucked when it came to phone selections and in my opinion signal strength. It works well in Chicago's subway system but doesn't work in my office building or bathroom at home.

I read elsewhere on this forum that the HTC 6800 WILL be hitting USC shelves by June. The 6800 is WiFi capable so you won't have to wait forever for them to set up EvDo. If I can't get my Q to cooperate, I am going to push for a trade to the HTC! Not sure how that will work, but I have not been able to rely on my Q!
