Just Bought a Q

Yeah, the fact that calls go to VM while surfing on the Q w/ USCC, really does suck!! It's a pain. I don't recall having the problem missing so many calls on my USCC BlackBerry when I used it.

I've had to turn down the frequency that my mailboxes are checked even, because when they're being checked, that also seems to bounce people to VM :-( In addition, I've had to lessen the frequency that it checks my Exchange email because that too blocks calls.

Debating on whether I should go back and get the 8830, since I'm still in my 30 days.

Oh and as an aside, I really thought that the Q is a decent machine, my girlfriend was going to keep hers until the phone she had started giving off really loud feedback when put up to her ears. The first phone did that in the store before we walked out the door, and she didn't have the problem for the next two days, but it started acting up again.

I assume you're not in the Milwaukee area? That's the only place that U.S. Cellular has EVDO up and running right now, so if you're there, what the store manager said is correct. If not - no. Sorry the Q didn't work well for you.

Gmail does indeed work on the USCC q. try setting your gmail acoount to accept pop3 access.
