And I would disagree that we're an evil at all. See, you've got certain things you want from a carrier, and that's absolutely legitimate and your right as a consumer. But if those needs represent a consumer we're not about serving, does that make us wrong or evil?

You could make a case for that, probably. But I'd disagree that it's automatically so.

Nothing's written up as yet. If I were to say 2008, I'd be pretty confident in saying so. If I tried to get any more specific, I'd be way out on a limb.

I can appreciate that. People who want it are getting tired of waiting. The question seems to be whether or not the customer base as a whole is wanting this. I don't have anything specific I can say, but no one's forgotten it. That I can say.

what the update on the edvo for uscc? and i have a question about tethering on the q for the blackberry rep for uscc. so uscc does not allow the q to be used as a modem? so y didnt uscc take that option out of the phone when u had the chance? and another thing what can u do if a person uses it as a modem as i know of u have no policy against it shown to the public. i talk to a customer service rep. and he said that there is no written policy and there is not one yet in writting. so anyone on uscc that uses a phone as a modem is not violating anything... ??

It's not *exactly* true that there's nothing in writing. The terms include an "anything that harms the network" clause. Tethered usage is considered to fall under that.

I have seen users put on Pay-As-You-Go data usage for a first offense, and cancelled from data altogether for a second one. Prior to the tiered offering that now maxes out at $30 of data charges, I saw one customer who ignored the warning get a bill for over $6000. And he was well beyond $100 for the next month by the time the bill arrived.

As for why we didn't remove it, because we haven't ruled out the possibility that it'll be allowed in the future.

Oh, and EV-DO is still a ways off. I'm not sure of it, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's no movement on it before the 2nd quarter of next year.

you CAN physically use this feature, but it's a time bomb until some network tech notices the usage and shuts down the ESN....
