Default How to shorten ringtones?

I own a motorola Q9c from usc and i set some of my ringtones as a contact ringer, but some of these ringtones are full songs. the problem im having is that for the full song ringer it will not stop ringing when i answer the call or text, it keeps ringing until the song is over, the only way to stop it is to cut off the phone. is there a way to change the song to stop when the call or text is answered?

make the sound file shorter. save it under a different name if you want the original.

for a call it should stop automatically, but for a text you need to pick a shorter tone (or use something like audacity to crop the file you have) a good length for a ringer is 30 seconds and for a text is 2-5 seconds.

Or...for a really sweet simple remedy! Check out InboxTones from QoreFunctions. Keep the song as is and have this app only play a bit of it for texts and email too....
