I broke down and bought a GPS receiver. Works great, but would much prefer the internal version.

I purchased a GPS receiver off eBay but it is telling me that it is not compatible with my phone. I have tried to use the software that come with it. I tried to use it with Windows Live and Google Maps. I tried it inside and outside and still no luck. What am I doing wrong?

Here's an interesting little fact:

When my phone is put into field test mode, there are three categories under the field test menu relating to GPS.

GPS Session Update, GPS Performance level, and GPS Location privacy. The value for location privacy can be changed as can all other values in the field test menu. EXCEPT for the session update (new, latest, and continuous, mine set on new) and performance level (levels 1-6, mine set on 1).

I have no idea what any of these values mean, but they appear to be locked. I will submit it for those of you that actually know what these kind of things mean. Maybe it will help.

Just wanted to give you a update. I did get the bluetooth GPS receiver to finally work. I had to switch the settings over to com 1. I also purchased the
Garmin Mobile XT North America 2009 GPS for Smartphones on eBay. Now I have a turn by turn voice navigation system for only about $89.00! It works great but I just wish I knew how to unlock the GPS function in the phone so I would not need the receiver!

I have seen your post calling for drivers. I have been gioing in circles all week with USCellular (local dealer), USCellular tech help and Motorola. Nobody gives the same answer. Motorola says that the Q9c does not have a GPS receiver, so I need a bluetooth puck. I was wondering if you've had any luck.
Thanks

The USCC Q9c's GPS has been disabled, except for 911. You can buy a bluetooth GPS receiver, pair it to your Q9c and it works great.

Is it bluetooth-capable? If so, yes! If not.....doubtful.
