I've heard "by November" and can't wait. I've since graduated from my Q to an HTC PPC 6800, so at least I can take advantage of WiFi in the interim.

I am just curious if anyone from US Cellular reads this forum? If so is there any kind of schedule out for when certain areas are going to be upgraded to evdo. I am specifically looking for central North Carolina. Verizon and Alltel both already have evdo service here.

As you probably know evdo is supposed to be rolled out in the Chicago market sometime before 2008 ends. However, US Cellular has been pushing that time frame back and back and back. Considering Chicago is going to be the second US Cellular market with evdo, I would not expect it to arrive in North Carolina anytime soon. I would say at least a year. That is just my gut feeling as I think US Cellular has been very slow to get this going and in turn they will ultimately lose customers because of it.

WOW NORTH CAROLINA!?!? lol i didnt knw us cellular was out there........i thought it was just for mid-west based cities

p.s i was just on the USC site i just found out they finally got the HTC touch!!!.......think that might be my next phone

I'm in NC and I was really thinking about switching carriers just because USCC is being extremely slow in getting EVDO out to everywhere. Most of the other companys have it everywhere and have no problem with it. They can't say they're trying to work out the bugs because all of the other carriers have worked them out for them. In my opinion they've lost alot of business because they haven't introduced EVDO everywhere yet. I was with sprint two years ago and they had it then. That my two cents.

October 28th is when it launches in the Des Moines market. Once it rolls out it would be nice to get some roaming agreements.
