So far, this is the only comment saying that it's going to happen. Has anyone else called into customer care? If anyone else does, ask the CC rep what internal site they got this info. I have a friend that works for Sprint who may be able to verifiy it if they say where they got the info, but as of now, he showed me something released in Aug saying it was nixed.

I'm still not convinced. I do know that a Q1 upgrade does exist. I've seen it.
However, it's up to Sprint to take that and work their 'magic' on it.
I do know for certain that it's in Sprint's court. If they decide to distribute it, they will. They have the code, they just need to use it.
USE IT SPRINT DAMN YOU!!!

This is what I got back from tech support this morning on the matter

Thank you for contacting Sprint.

I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you are having with the misinformation you are receiving about the Moto Q. Allow me to clear up any confusion.

Please know that the first Moto Q will not have the update Windows OS 6 for this device. The recently released Moto Q9C is the updated Q that does include the Windows Mobile 6 OS. There are no talks of a software update for the first Q.
I think that Sprint should at least buy us dinner before they screw us

The Microsoft/Motorola version of WM6 for the Q has been around for quite some time now. If Sprint had any intentions of releasing WM6 for the Sprint Q they would have already "worked their (carrier specific) magic on it" and we would all be running WM6 right now. But they didn't and they sure as heck aren't going to do it now at this late date. The Sprint Q is EOL at this point, you can forget about an major OS upgrades coming out. It's not going to happen...

It'll get leaked eventually and most Q users who haven't upgraded will get to run WM6, but without Sprint support...

I ran into the same problem with my Blackjack before it died. It was a WM5 machine and there was a promised WM6 upgrade. We waited all summer, and then the ROM leaked. So we all got excited, until the Black Jack II was announced which was AT&Ts way of saying if you want WM6 on the Blackjack its time to get a new phone after 1 year.

Seems Sprint has the same philosophy.
