hmm... I don't think I'm ready to give up a keyboard just yet for a screen version. Thanks for the link, HTC seems to be one of the more exciting brands these days, especially given Motorola's relatively poor support of the Q...

Well, after lots of video viewing and reading about the Touch, I think I'll stick with my Q. I am too enamored with the keyboard to give it up for a hunt-and-peck stylus solution. Sure, the flow screen is cool, WM6 is a bonus, and of course the huge screen real estate, but the more I think about it, the more I think I should stick with my current Q or upgrade to a Q9m or Q9c. Now if the Touch had a slide-out keyboard, that'd be a different story. I do far too much messaging/email to use a stylus in the manner needed to use the Touch.

Have you thought about the HTC Mogul with the slide out keyboard? I'm stuck between that and the q9c for sprint when it comes out.

Yes, I've looked at some material for the Mogul as well, but I really like the slim form factor of the Q. Going back to something "fatter" would make my pocket bulge and would make me actually feel like I'm carrying a brick in my pocket again. I guess this is yet another advantage of the Q, although the other features of the Mogul look nice.

The Mogul is indeed a worthy competitor.... touch screen + keyboard = winner!

hmm... I'd have to wonder if that they are referring to the upcoming Q hardware release.. the Q9 for Sprint?

Although... that seems like a pretty definitive answer to me. Unfortunately it contradicts everything I have read about the Q and WM6.

I said a while back that if it happened I would bet it would come after the new hardware release (to sell more new devices first), so that would make sense. Here's hoping...

I got it from a friend that is corp. tech 3 he said there is an internal memo about a buy back program for the Q's for 110 dollars.
This is from another thread about the release of the Sprint 9c. You have to wonder if they are going to buy back the original Q then why are they supposedly working to upgrade it with WM6.
There are so many rumors out there and we're all guessing what is going to happen. It's going to be interesting how it all shakes out!!

A buy back program would definitely be more along the lines of what I might expect from Motorola. One of the "no upgrade" posts here eluded to the fact that Motorola had tried the upgrade and decided against it (performance or compatibility issues, maybe?).
