It doesnt keep up as is, but i manage, because t still keeps up enough.

I'm pretty sure Telenav caches the maps, so it's not a constant data stream. I'd imagine all programs are the same, so you'd only have occasional pauses -- not a constant lag.

Telenav is working great for me with the external unit so far. It is dead-on my location at all times, regardless of speed. I'm usually in EvDO coverage, but haven't noticed any problems when I do go to 1x.
