Default Was Sprint ready for the Q ?

I just get the feeling they forged ahead quickly, without proper training and such.

Problem 1: To this day, the online User guide STILL lists a miniSD card and stereo headset listed as included accessories.
I tried to let them know it should be changed, to avoid future clients from being confused/misled, who might not find out until they find the "please disregard that reference" leaflet inside the box.

Problem 2: It's listed under PowerVision phones. Why? Is it strictly because it's EVDO capable ? (Or would that still work under the Vision plan)
Not having Picture/Video MMS enabled, no SprintTV, SprintMusic, etc, I just feel it's misleading listing it under Power Vision.
When I described this to a rep in a triple threaded eamil, the response totally overlooked my point and responded as such:

I have checked and noticed that Motorola Q handset is Power Vision capable handset. So, you can use Power Vision features on this handset.
Thank you for contacting us, and we look forward to serving you.

Original Message Follows:

ME: Thank you.
The PowerVision plan is enabled, but while the Motorola Q is listed as a Power Vision phone, it actually doesn't support the "power" feature
(SprintTV, radio, PictureMail/MMS, VideoMail, etc.)

Thanks!
I've been with Sprint for almost 7 years, so my intent is to just point out weak spots.
To further elaborate, I recently got a Text Message from SPRINT:
"Welcome to Sprint PowerVision! Surf the web, check e-mail, enjoy unlimited TV and more.
Go to http://gospv.com/p112"

Yet, when I do that on my Q, most of the links on the page do not work

Either: "There has been an application error! Please contact your system administrator to report this error."
{The "Check email from your Power Vision Phone" link}

Or
ALERT: The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later
{Sirius Hits 1 Preview}

Or
ALERT: Internet Explorer Mobile cannot display pages of this type.
{When checking the ABC News Preview link}

Or
Error 404: File Not Found: /null&src=670
{when checking Sprint TV Live link, ESPN Bottomline Pro link, The New York Times link, and the "And More!" link} all listed on the sprint powervision mobile page that THEY texted to me.

There seems to just be some confusion as to what the Q can and can't do - and (IMHO) the term PowerVision is misleading when it comes to someone entering a 2 year agreement and purchasing a high end phone.

I totally agree. Thank you for that well worded post. But then again, I think Sprint and other carriers know message boards such as this exsist, so they just leave it up to us. Still that's no excuse for misleading information, lack of up-to-date information, and plain laziness of trying. the "powers that be" literally throw their weight around so I guess they do their part to propels the wheel of progress. The other half is our hard work to make life livable. Such is life. :P

Powervision - The vision service including evdo features such as sprint tv, sirius radio, etc that cannot be used on the Q.

EVDO - type of connection

certainly NOT the same thing.

Problem 1: This is on motorola.

Problem 2: It is an EVDO phone, so they listed it under PV. They are different things, though.

Even worse, I just got a mailer from Sprint that is a "Sprint Power Vision Guide for customer" that is telling me how to use Sprint Music Channel, Sprint TV, etc. This mailer was triggered by my recent purchase of two Q's, but it really does not apply to the Q at all, correct? Very confusing for Joe Customer.

No kidding - the Fusic I got my wife the day I got my Q (had to get the OK for my Q SOMEHOW!) Her Fusic does ALL those cool things... Not that I'm jealous - I need the Q for it's SmartPhoned-ness, not the Fusic's iPodPhone-ness... ;)
