Default Need help with pdanet connection

I just installed all the drivers to sync my Q with Vista and installed the trial version of pdanet. When I try to connect with pdanet i get an error message that says "unable to connect (code=9) please make sure that activesync icon has turned green." On my Q, I have activated modem link usb connection.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Also I did download the INF file so I do have the Q as a modem on my computer. I setup a new network connection as I have seen in different threads using the phone number #777 and no user name and pw.

I have worked on this all day and can not find any threads anywhere actually referencing this working on a Sprint Q. Does it? (I did see something about PDAnet working on sprint, but it costs $)

Help, THANKS!

Anthony

Default Works with Alltel

Works fine with Alltel, no extra charges either.

Alright... Here is what I got going on with my sprint and us cellular moto q. I pretty much refuse paying $40 a month for unlimited power vision that i already have with my sero plan. And also I am not going to pay $30 for a program to funnel internet though my phone when I can use my noodle and figure out how to do it with what i got. Call me cheep, but I would sometimes like a chalange instead of forking out money i can use someother way. But if you do some compairing of a USCC moto q to a Sprint moto q using qpst. You will find the way. Btw I mainly use bt dun but my way works over usb also.... I would agree with everyone else about pdanet if you are not really techy. Because you could f*ck up your phone.

BTW, I tried a WiFi mini SD card with 2gb memory, and works just great for internet connections where I can WiFI.

Ok, those of you who are using PDANet should NOT be activating Modem Link. This disables the Active Synch connection and causes PDA Net to fail. Don' turn Modem Link on. After a partnership with active synch is established with your laptop and pda net is downloaded to your PC, the program should install the server part on your Moto Q (that is what active sync is for). After that active synch need not be active in order for PDANet to work. In fact, active synch will disconnect PDA Net if it is active (for example, during an email push).

Modem Link is used only for carrier-provisioned tethering. ICS in WinMo 6 is also used for this if it is enabled on the phone.

According to June Fabrics, the client part (the part on the laptop) is "free" in that you can install it on as many PC's as you want. What you "pay" for is the license to use the server part on your phone. The license is keyed to your phone's ID. So you need a separate license for each PHONE but not for each PC.
