With PDANet installed on both your laptop and the phone, you should see a PDANet icon in the system tray of your laptop (by the clock). Make sure that the phone is connected via USB, and r-click the PDANet icon, then select 'connect.' It should be that easy.
1. If BT isn't giving you troubles then don't go out of your way to enable/disable it.
2. I have a feeling there may be some initial setup involved with establishing the very-first-ever connection, but I might be confusing PDANet with my unsuccessful attempts to use Sprint's dial-up-networking software. This
potential setup would involve entering a pseudo-phone number, making sure that 'name' and 'password' are blank, and so on. The software should automatically create network connections for you. No worries about digging around inside your machine too much.
With any luck, you'll report back that you got it to work...and you'll report it from your laptop!
Best,
.
