Default Using bluetooth for modem and activesync

I am new to the Q and a little new to using the bluetooth features of phones. I have the Q for Sprint and a Dell Latitude D420 with built in wireless. I cannot for the life of me get the activesync (v 4.2) to work via bluetooth. It works just fine via USB, but that is not what I"m after. I also cannot figure out how to get this phone to act as a modem for my laptop. I have tried first with the Dell supplied Toshiba bluetooth stack, then I uninstalled that and have tried with the XP SP2 bluetooth manager. Still no luck. And I have made sure the COM ports are the same in botht he manager and activesync. My D420 and my Q have no problem seeing each other and pairing, but nothing is getting done.

Any help?

Yo, I can help with the BT Sync problem. Go to My Bluetooth places, if you have one. Under Bluetooth tasks on the leftside of the screen click View Devices in Range. Next right click on your Q and go down 2 properties. Under the properties menu click the Authorization tab. Then put a check in the Active Sync, Pim Item Transfer, And PIM synchronization boxes. Click apply and all that good stuff. Then on your phone go to Active Sync. Press Menu and scroll down to an press Connect via Bluetooth. And if your pc bluetooth is on it should connect and BAMM!!!! Active Sync baby.

One Luv.

Is there a bluetooth Icon on your desktop? It should be someway of finding bluetooth devices within range.

Thanks for the response. I am so frustrated.

I am able to send a file from my pc to my MotoQ via bluetooth and vice versa. I simply can't get ActiveSync to work.

I have an icon in the bottom part of the Start taskbar. It points to something called "Bluetooth Stack for Windows by Toshiba." It came with my brand new Dell Latitude D420.

When you send files to your Q from you pc can you right click on your Q, if its an icon, from the BT menu on your pc? If so, got to properties and start from there on the instructions I gave previously in this thread. If not, I don't know what to tell you. I have a BT dongle on my desktop.

I was hoping you guys would get into the sprint and Q problem of using it as a modem. I have had no problems with other phones doing this and I have the vision services but can't get this phone to be recognized by the sprint connection manager or get it to work with bluetooth. Thinking of taking it back.
