| Upgrade from Q to Q9c? I've had my Q since May and have the Sprint insurance plan. Given that the battery life sucks, and half the time doesn't charge, it seems to me that the phone is inherently defective. If I have the insurance plan, and make a big enough stink, I wonder if they would let me upgrade? Anyone know the cost of the 9qc with a 2 yr contract?

| Over at Sprintusers, a few people are saying that retentions gave them the Q9C for either free or 49.95. head over to www.sprintusers.com, then click windows mobile devices>motorola q temp forum. good luck, i havent tried yet =) |

Jerry | Since you had the phone since May, I don't think you qualify for an upgrade rebate(at least 12 months I believe). It would end up costing you alot of money, something like $400 bones or whatever. Sure you could upgrade but I don't think they'll cut you much slack when it comes to the price.

However, in this case the argument would be that the phone is defective and since I have paid for the insurance, I am entitled to have the problem fixed. Since giving me a new Q won't fix the problem, allowing me to pay the difference for the upgrade seems reasonable. Its worth a try. |

| I just got off the phone with Sprint, and was able to upgrade to a Q9c for considerably less than the cost of a new phone. Yeah, it will cost me some money, but for my situation and circumstances, I'm happy with the deal. Plus, now my wife will get my Q (newly replaced a week ago due to my former Q bricking) and I will get the Q9c. |

| Hey....
can you list all of the 'known' hardware/software issues that you would have used n your arguement? I am curious.
thanks,
Matt

| For me, the only real issue has been battery life and quirky charging. I can almost watch the battery meter falling during the day, with absolutely nothing running, and all the known power drains turned off (like beam, and GPS, and automatic E-mail sync.) So, by the end of the day, without even using the phone, the battery is almost dead. The other related issue is that half the time, I plug it in to charge, and the icon indicates it is charging, but it won't be charged in the morning. There have been literally hundreds of posts about these problems in here, and it doesn't seem to be a problem that can be fixed by exchanging for a new battery or getting a new phone. I was hoping that the MOL4 upgrade would fix the problem, but no such luck.
Otherwise, I love the phone, but the battery problem makes it almost unusable for me. |

Since your keeping your Q rather then trading it back in, how much did they offer the Q9C to you for? |

| Hello...
I am gonna guess that EdgeQ (who, as far as I know, isn't related - lol) got it for $149 with no rebates necessary... That's still too high for me, since I love my Q. I will wait until it's $50 or less through the Retention department..
Matt!
