At least I'm not the only one that got the Q9c for free, I would have felt bad if I were. (free exchange/ Upgrade on 11 December)

No there have been a few. I wish everyone could get upgraded. At least all Sprint EQ members.

I got mine thanks to a rumor that I heard on the Motorola Support Forum.
Really, they should have advertised that they were allowing customers to do that. I can see why they didn't, but that doesn't excuse it.

@DrQ

Glad that you finally got your Q9c! Yeah, I wondered how long Sprint was going to give away the phone for free. It's really hit and miss as to who you talk to or email.

It has a few quirks but wouldn't give up my Q for anything. There is nothing out there that I would have.

I've had a Q since March of last year.
Six weeks ago it started freaking out so I requested a warranty replacement.
They obliged, but charged me and disable my service in the process.
So I brought it to their attention that "warranty" means "free". They enabled my service and put a temporary credit on the account until the replacement arrived.
The replacement showed up, I sent the old Q back to expedite the "hard credit."
The new Q doesn't work right AT ALL. To date I've spent, literally, six hours on the phone with their tier three Advanced Technical Support guys. No joy.
I finally asked for a Q9C as a replacement because this thing is starting to worry me.
They obliged. Then they charged me again and suspended my service.
After 90 minutes being juggled by tier one and two, I finally ended up with Retentions who immediately reactivated my service and have assured me the Q9C is on the way.
It was a hassle, but I'm going to get the Q9C for free as a result.
It's amazing what you can get accomplished when they know you're willing to sell the replacement they're sending you to cover the cost of an early termination fee.

I emailed e-care today and told them about the issues with the q and mentioned Verizons 30 day trial. I received a message tonight saying that they have not heard of these issues with Motorola and my phone is still under warranty, but since I am such a loyal customer, as an exception I will receive the Q9c in 3-5 days for free. I just need to send my old Q back. Let's see what happens

Well, it worked! I tried calling retentions and emailing ecare. Calling didn't amount to much after 2 phone calls so I focused on ecare as it seems that you don't necessarily 'speak' to the same rep each time. After 4-5 emails they've finally agreed to upgrade me to the Q9c and give my husband $150 toward the purchase of a new phone, which they are sending along with the new Q in 3 to 5 days!!! Here's the key tho', they would only offer me the $150 toward a new phone to replace the Q initially. That is unil I mentioned a client of mine who had the same phone, plan, problems, and had been a Sprint customer less time than I had. I said he got an Upgrade, it overnighted, and didn't have to return his old Q all for free. I asked what's with the difference in treatment? The next email offered all that plus my hubby's phone. Mentioning the Verizon 30 day free trial probably helped. Let's just hope it gets here!

I'm glad it worked for you thewurster4. I was told 3-5 days to receive my new Q9c (Wednesday night), so I am assuming maybe today (I doubt it though), Saturday, or Monday... I really hope that it comes. I know some others mentioned that e-care told them yes and ordered the phone for them, but the order was cancelled on another level. I have my fingers crossed

Anyone that was told that your phone would come in 3-5 days, how long did it actuallytake to come? Also, where does the phone ship from (city, state)?

TIA

Called sprint on a friday and they told me my free q9 was shipped and on monday I received it. It was pretty quick. I don't remember from what city/state it was sent from.

Do you think I would be able to get a replacement? I bought my Q in August and there are already issues. Obviously battery life and then I have some keys that work on occasion, the speakers sound blown. Also it sometimes won't open files and programs. I would say I have a bad Q. Will sprint agree? Also I have insurance on it.
