Hi all! I'm new here, and wanting to get a Q9c. I currently have a V3m, about a year old, who's battery is for the birds, and has a crapped out screen (it's solid white)

I am eligible for the $150 upgrade credit, according to the website, even though I only got my phone a year ago.

Hubby also got us a finnagled discount-y plan through retentions a while back, and is loathe to try and talk them into a discounted Q9c, he doesn't want to get "flagged" in some way!! LOL

Do you think we'd be able to get a deal on the phone? Currently, the website is offering me $149 after $100 MIR.


Would love any tips/advice!

I was in the Sprint store this weekend to pay my bill and also ask about the fact that my stereo headset and memory card were not included. While in the store I noticed that the original Q was no longer in the store, I asked the rep if they no longer carried the original Q. He said that because the original was not selling they decided to no longer carry it. I don't know if this is going to help in trying to get replaced with a newer model but just thought I would throw it out there.

I called again tonight. Spoke to a CSR who then put me to retentions who then put to corporate account services since I get a corp discount. Best I could do was to get the new customer price of $150. I passed on that but did upgrade my wife to the Centro for the $100...I'll take that as I am not as lucky as some people.

just called, asked for rententions and explained that the q1 had a lot of problems... basically terrible battery life, vision service updates, etc and the lady said she couldn't help me. Then i told her i'd been on the verizon 30 day trial for about 2 weeks and was highly considering switching and now i have a new Q9 on the way for an even exchange.

Finally got a report for ya'll...got my free Q9c yesterday. Just after Christmas TarHeelsRule! inspired me to write E-care via the Sprint website complaining about all the Q's problems most notably battery, no Sprint TV, etc. and I got an immedite response saying YES.

After two day calling who the suggested they finally agreed to handle it from there. I waited the 7 to 10 business days plus 3 before emailing again and I was told the order was canceled because there policy was to only exchange within 30 days.

I was then offered a new Q9c for $399. After a number of further emails the agreed to honor the initial reps commitment and I have now got my Q9c and returned the old Q today.

Worth the wait? Most definitely! I've got it loaded up again and there are a lot of little OS differences that fixed original Q problems plus all the additional goodies. GPS worked out of the box w/WLS just setting the port to Intermediate GPS Driver. HTML email looks great. Sprint TV works but Slingbox Pls! is my preference.

I think Sprint tightened up and are trying to avoid switching out the Q's after 30 days but I don't know how they can expect to sell both for the same money. I think I got lucky and got an inexperienced agent on my first attempt but I certainly worked for it.

Thanks to the many contributors regarding the Q9c as you've helped in some way getting me set-up quick and easy with tested apps, hacks, tricks and settings.
