So i called cancellations / retentions and stated how the q does not perform as they advertise, how I do not like the sluggishness of the phone, and how a new q 34 days after i bought my old one was kinda disappointing. They gave me this awesome deal: I agree to extend out for two years, but they agree to send me the new q9c and I send back the old one. I can't wait, it will be hear two days after xmas. Best xmas present i'll probably get!

WM6 here I come.

Default I got a Free Upgrade to Moto Q 9c

After reading this forum, I decided to give sprint retentions a call & try my luck.

Called in:

Was extremley polite

Said after many problems with my Q, I decided to do verizon's free 30 day trial:

I said I didnt want to switch, but the current Q is leaving me no options

Was very vey kind!!

Bottom Line - Free Q 9C! - No Extension of contract.

I just have to send in my old Q

i forgot to mention on mine, I don't even pay for insurance, and i've had my phone for a few months now. I just called a few times and talked very polite yet firm. Thats pretty much now you have to be with them or they will just get you off the phone.

The awesome thing about this whole ordeal is that I got my original q the same way....... so its two q's extremely cheap...

yeah, i called in and talked to a CSR named Mario. No go. he wouldn't even offer me a discount on the phone. said i would have to pay full price AND extend my contract.

i knew it was a long shot because I've only had it for 5 months, but dang. i politely explained how i have to keep my q on the charger at work just to get through the day and how sluggish it is, even though it was advertised as a fast, reliable phone. He said sorry but there's nothing he could do. I got the sense that he didn't really care.

I think I talked with the same guy. Got the same response. I am about to call back because my phone has really been acting buggy in the last few days. I sent an email listing all the problems that I have been having with it and included the false advertisement on Sprint's part purporting that we could watch Sprint tv on a original Q. I guess with the holidays they are down to a skeleton crew because they usually respond to email pretty quick.
I will keep ya'll posted on how many phone calls it takes before I get a Q9c because I refuse to settle for a refurbished Q through insurance as the guy I talked with the other day suggested!

Smile Patience paid off

Just received a response to my email to Sprint listing the many things that my Motorola Q can't do that is was purported to do such as Sprint TV, call tones and the deplorable battery life to name a few. I threatened to jump ship to another carrier if Sprint didn't step up to the plate and replace my original Q with a Q9c.

The result: A BRAND NEW, FREE Q9c!!!!! No extension of contract either. I will hopefully be sending my old Q back to Sprint sometime next week!!

While I realize all phones have little quirks so I don't expect the new phone to be without problems but I was getting tired of constantly not being able to get on the internet without powering my phone off and on. Or missing calls. So we'll see but I am happy with the results!

Thanks for posting back. Gad you got it to work for you!! I am going to try again tonight. Too many people are getting it to work for them. I am truly an honestly in the same boat of missing more phone calls than any previous phone I had from sprint, it stinks!

Yeah, my problems and concerns were legit. I was not trying to scam Sprint but the phone was just one headache after another. Time will tell whether the Q9c is an improvement or not. But try a polite but forceful email and see what kinda response you get.

So I went to a sprint store about a month ago and they told me it wasnt their problem that the phone was having charging problems and to call Motorola. They were wanting to charge me over $50 to get them just to LOOK AT IT!! I talked with the hot hostess girl they had there and she got me MOTOs number. So what are yall saying to get the new Q9c, cause I would love it. I am STILL having problems with the charging but lost Motos number. So what was our phone advertised to do? cause I WANT the Q9c and Im sure I could get it. Anyone elses phone just shut off on them and ALWAYS goes in and out of service? Annoys the hell outta me.
