| called Sprint today (*2), talked with a rep., asked what my price would be on a new Q9c if I upgraded, she got a hold of sales and told me $375(because I'm $75 of upgrade credit eligible), I said WHAT!!! You're kidding, I'm on my 3rd Moto Q1 in a little over one year.
I asked can I speak with Retentions, she asked "why, do you want to cancel service", I said no, I want a better deal on a phone that is reliable. she insisted she could not transfer me to retentions, so I said, yes, maybe I want to cancel service, so I get transferred, speak with another women at retentions, explain my situation, 3rd Q, current issues, want new Q9c for better price or free upgrade(exchange), she said "this just came from corporate we can only authorize a price based on your upgrade status so a new Q9c would be $375, sorry sir".
I don't know what to do, I need a reliable phone, I don't have insurance on my plan right now, can I simply add it? Will this help, I would pay $50, but I don't think I should have to pay any more after having non stop issues and going thru 3 of these things in one year.
Feedback please? |

| I believe that the insurance has to be added shortly after you get the phone (within 2 weeks or a month or something like that)
What kind of problems are you having? My Q1 was just as reliable as my Q9c is. |

| I live in a good service area, keep my tasks/memory managed thru-out the day, but still 50% of my calls come in as missed calls.
I reboot my Q1 daily.
I have to "update my Vision profile" almost every other day for the web to work appropriately.
WMP when listening to web content locks the entire phone up almost daily(if using it)
Plus more daily bs.
Plus I just want the Q9c and SprintTV like we were promised way back with the original Q1. |

| I got it, yeah!!
Free, nope.
After 3 phone calls, and 4 emails to eCare, I finally got the Q9c.
Here's the deal, I told them I've been thru 3 Q1's, not happy, etc. etc., finally they pitched the you can purchase the Q9c at any Sprint Store, return your under warranty Q1 and we will deduct its msrp from your account. So, $449.99 for Q9c minus $379.99 for Q1 = $70 for Q9c, all handled thru my account. Not free, but not bad. I'm at peace, finally. This thing just better be all its cracked up to be.
Quick question on SprintTV, I have the full data plan, don't remember what hell its called, SprintTV is included in this correct? Its just based on whether your phone supports SprintTV right? |

| Hmmm ... I hate my Q, and would love to have a Q9C if it indeed solves the issues I hate about mine:
Poor battery life (even with the extended battery)
Luck-of-the-draw charging
Random shutdowns ("Let me check my calendar, hold on.... WHY IS IT OFF? MOTHERF*** THIS PHONE!!!!")
Better call quality from a pair of tin cans
Numerous other little issues that add up to me hating this phone and Sprint
I don't want to sign on for 2 more years to get any discount because I'm leery about the Q-series now. I have a little under a year left on my contract. I'd rather pay the ETF than give them more than the ETF to get another crappy phone.
I've had this phone for a little over a year, and I don't have the insurance on it (stupid, I know...). So what are the chances I'd get a Q9C if I called and complained and threatened to just eat the ETF to get a phone elsewhere?
Edit: No luck. Guy just told me my ETF was $200, and that I ought to just wait for the Instinct, since it'd be $199 - my $75 credit. That looks like a neat phone, but there's no IM client, and I'm going to guess you can't tether it to a laptop, so it's not for me. Guess I'll just wait this out and switch carriers when my contract is up.

| A friend of mine Works for Sprint and told me about doing this at Best Buy. She says she has done in a few times as well as her friends and none of them have ever had to send any phones back or charged any more $$ Quote:

| I just got off the phone with Sprint trying to get a Q9C after my 8th Q1 just died. So far it's a no go but she said if the next one breaks they'll see about getting me a new phone. |

okay first of all, you need to go to the store near you, after i went through 6 q's and 3 q9c's, i went to the store yesterday, and explained how rediculous this is. Tell them about the hard reset all the time, the ever elusive white screen, and the ms-dos looking error code.
They handed me a MOGUL yesterday at no cost whatsoever.
It sucks because of the www.everythinghtc.com forum is no where near what this forum is.
but the phone looks to be okay so far, couple of things i dont like, but hey if the phone works when its on, i guess thats better than my Q9c working when it wants to. |
