When I wrote back again, I got the response that I could get it by paying the difference in regular prices of the phones: $449 - $379 = $70. Did anyone have success doing this for free after the "regular" prices for the phones changed? Any tips?

Do not give up!
I had Moto Q for a year and it had nothing but problems.. I have insurance on it and had it replaced 2 TIMES!!! Then the third time I took it to the store and said I would like to get something else... And they told me to call sprint *2 and talk to them...
Well it took about an hour of calling Sprint Customer Serive and Tech support they dropped my calls twice when transfering... but I kept calling and asking that they would give me anything other then MOTO Q...
On my third person in the TECH support with the insurance company I got a really nice lady who offered to upgrade me at no charge to a MOTO Q9c. I had my Moto Q9c in my hands in 3 days.
Advice... Keep trying and do not lose your cool when they will transfer you from one place to the next and tell you to call your sprint store.. etc... Persistence my friend...
Keep calling and cite that you had issues with this phone and you would like to get anything but this MOTO Q and you are bound to get someone who feels your need and there ya go.
