Well in that case, I say keep sending the emails, detailing the problems that you are having very politely and let them know how upset you are with the lack of concern on Sprint's part. That while you do have the ability of getting it repaired through Motorola that being without a phone even for a few days is not an option for you. Hopefully the email will get to someone who cares and is in the position to replace your Q free of charge. But the key for me is to be polite and respectful while still letting them know how upset you are.

so I just got off the phone with Retentions. A very polite guy from texas named Dwayne answered and asked how he could help. I politely, yet with my irritation showing fully, explained how I'd e-mailed eCare and they still wanted me to pay $225 for a phone to replace my 2nd defective product. He agreed that was a bit excessive.

I mentioned how I went online and saw a whole lot of people getting their phone replaced for _free_ with the exact same problems. I told him I didn't really understand that since we've been customers for 5 years. He asked me the standard "Which phone are you most interested in?" bit and I explained that the Q9C had resolved most of the problems in the original Q. He went to talk to his supervisor. He came back and said that he could get me the phone for $99.99. I told him that was honestly too much, we're having a kid, etc etc. He lowered the price to 80. I figured that was about as high as I could get the wife to agree to. The only condition was I had to re-up the contract for the standard 2 years. I asked him to hold on for a few while I used my work cell to call her. He then told me "Oh you realize that you still qualify for the $100 rebate right?" So I made sure I understood him. I paid $80 on my next bill and submitted the rebate. I'd end up $20 richer. I figured it couldn't get any better so I called her. She was not pleased about the 2 year thing but said go ahead.

So, I'll get a new phone Wednesday. Dwayne was a seriously nice guy.

Which number do I call for retentions?? I emails ecare twice, the first person said there was nothing she could do and the second person asked me to buy an extended battery. I moved to sprint last april and I donot have insurance. I love the Q, but now it has really started to bug me with its 101 problems.

These are the numbers for Retentions I have seen posted at slickdeals:
866-881-9571
877-766-7697
877-851-1832
800-658-7564
866-207-7913

dialing *2 and saying CANCEL also works.

I actually never spoke to anyone. I just sent a total of four emails to ecare and they said that they could only swap for $150. I told them this was not acceptable and mentioned all the problems I have been having with the Q1 and mentioned that retentions has help[ed me before. I they couldn't help me I was leaving to another company where I could get the Q9c for free. SURPRISE!!! I got the phone in 2 days. My emails where stern but very nice and that really seemed to work. Now I'm working on getting one for my girlfriend.

Thanks for the help on this thread. I signed up on the SERO plan may 07 for a 2yr contract and got the Q. I had problems after about 2 months (battery, phone freeze, all the typical) I was too lazy to call and just lived with it. But today, I decided to call sprint. I dialed *2 and said cancel. After 2 rings, Hank picked up from retentions. I explained myself very politely and honestly of the problems. He said I can give you the Q9C for $199-$100rebate and I can keep my phone and no contract extension. Just like that. Very friendly guy. He also said there are a few new phones coming out and that when I get my Q, I have 30days to swap it for a new phone and I would be able to keep doing that until I find a phone I like.

Hello Everyone:

I bought my moto-q in Feb last year and it's behaving completely erratic now. Same issues that others have mentioned. I tried asking for the free upgrade from the moto-q to the q9c yesterday through ecare. At first I received the standard upgrade email. When I wrote back again, I got the response that I could get it by paying the difference in regular prices of the phones: $449 - $379 = $70. Did anyone have success doing this for free after the "regular" prices for the phones changed? Any tips?

TIA!

Do not give up!

I had Moto Q for a year and it had nothing but problems.. I have insurance on it and had it replaced 2 TIMES!!! Then the third time I took it to the store and said I would like to get something else... And they told me to call sprint *2 and talk to them...

Well it took about an hour of calling Sprint Customer Serive and Tech support they dropped my calls twice when transfering... but I kept calling and asking that they would give me anything other then MOTO Q...

On my third person in the TECH support with the insurance company I got a really nice lady who offered to upgrade me at no charge to a MOTO Q9c. I had my Moto Q9c in my hands in 3 days.

Advice... Keep trying and do not lose your cool when they will transfer you from one place to the next and tell you to call your sprint store.. etc... Persistence my friend...

Keep calling and cite that you had issues with this phone and you would like to get anything but this MOTO Q and you are bound to get someone who feels your need and there ya go.
