Hey All, I've had my motorola Q and sprint since April. I don't have any insurance on my phone right now and I'm still within the 2 year Contract. Do you guys think it's possible for me to request an upgrade?

The Q has been giving me major grief. The Buzzing backlight has gotten rather unbearable and the phone refuses to charge randomly =(. Not to mention I can't use Sprint picture mail or tv >=/. So far a ton of you have gone through the retentions dept, but I'm not sure how I'm gonna convince them that i'd leave since I'm still within contract. That seems the be the only way you guys seem to be getting them to let you switch to the Q9c. Any advice?

hmm looks like sprint just change their contract terms, this is a chance to say I could leave without getting charged an ETF

Everyone that was approved for an upgrade and was told there was a system error but the order is now placed, I too received the same message. Here is why...

Im not sure if everyone else received the email from sprint a few weeks back saying that they were changing the billing systems and our accounts would not be available for changes for about a week, but I did. Since changes could not be made on the accounts during the upgrade, that is why they had to resubmit our orders when the system change was done.

the issue with picture mail is a problem with sprint rather than the Q. The touch has the same problem. But on the Q9c, you can access Sprint TV and there is the built in GPS receiver, among other things.

Plus a much better keyboard, better battery life, WM6, wifi capability (if you buy a wifi card) . . .

After several tries to upgrade/trade I finally managed to get it pushed through.

I started out by emailing ecare about the phones (lack of) battery life. I've had the phone sine March of last year and should have ditched it right away to be honest. I love the features but with minimal use it would not last through a 12 hour day.

Anyway, to make a long story short. After several emails Sprint offered to replace my battery ....which would do nothing for me. Then they offered to pay for half of the extended battery ($30).
After admitting the original Q had problems they offered me $150 credit towards the new Q which would still cost me $250+ in the end? Too much for my blood after I already spent over $200 for the first Q.

As a last ditch effort I called *2 and said "cancel" . I finally spoke with a (english speaking) person and explained my issues with the phone. And low and be hold she offered to replace it with a Q9c for free! And if I don't like it I can exchange it for something else.

Not sure if I'll keep the new one but I very happy that they stepped up and helped me out in the end.
