Sprint Cancels Difficult Customers' Contracts

Today, 1:09 AM source: Wall Street Journal / RCR News
At the end of June Sprint sent letters to customers who made an unusual number of calls to customer service, giving them a month to find a new carrier. These customers were making an average of 25 calls per month to customer service, where as the typical Sprint customer calls once every 2 months. The letter went out to approximately 1000 subscribers, though earlier reports estimated the number was much higher. This is still an unusual move as no carrier has ever canceled subscribers in bulk like this before. No other national carrier has canceled accounts because of the number of customer service calls subscribers made, however Verizon admits to canceling the accounts of individuals who were extremely abusive to customer service reps in rare cases.

What do you mean?

This sounds like the perfect way to get out of your contract early without paying the penalty.

Just call customer service a million times and then go get your iPhone from ATT.

sure IF you want to get out of a contract...not for someone who thinks that customer service is just that...a way to get questions answered (or a way to bitch and yell if they mess up your bill)
but to get it out of the blue (with out already knowning that sprint does this) is messed up

this is something else i found from the phonescoop.com site under the article where it says 'more info'

“While we have worked to resolve your issues and questions to the best of our ability, the number of inquiries you have made to us during this time has led us to determine that we are unable to meet your current wireless needs,” the letter read, and went on to say that the company would terminate her service contract as of July 30. No early termination fee would be charged, and the customer’s account received a credit that brought it to a zero balance, Sprint Nextel said—although the subscriber, who told fellow Netizens that she had been a customer with the carrier for seven years, said she already had a zero account balance.

so apprently they wont be charged....
