Text/SMS Messages Problem

Has anyone in the SoCal region been unable to receive text messages from other carriers ? Yesterday a buddy of mine tried to text me some information and I never received it ?!?! He tried 4 times and I got nothing, and then I asked a couple of my other friends to send texts to me from T-Mobile and Cingular and I never got any of them. The only one that came through was from Sprint and one I sent to myself. I called sprint and they could do nothing about it, very frustrating, does anyone what could be causing this problem ???

same problem calld tech support and nothin n i got that save other carriers bs.
