as for differences in service?
sprint = shweet
vz = anal...at least in terms of data and what you can do with your phones. ive been tethering on sprint ever since the sanyo scp 5000 at no extra charge
i would say the advantage verizon has is voice and coverage. almost everybody i know has verizon and a lot of people opt for free m2m[/quote]

I haven't noticed any less reception than verizon. Seems the same or better with Q.

You're probably right. Im pretty sure sprint has roaming agreements with verizon...among others (re: If there is ABSOLUTELY no sprint signal, sprint users can piggyback off of verizon's towers free of charge...but if, for example, there is a 1XRTT signal for sprint data and an EVDO signal for verizon data, the sprint q will go 1XRTT unfortunately...the same goes for voice too i think). Can someone else confirm if this is true?

In anycase, I'm in NYC...where the only place I dont get a signal is in the subway...

A Sprint device will default to Sprint's network if available, even if a better signal is present.

You can set the Q to Roam only, so even if there is a Sprint tower with a signal, you'll pick up the other carriers tower instead.

Why would you want to roam only? Especially if in doing so Sprint may drop you as previously mentioned in this thread?

I was replying to this post. The reason why someone would want to is if they have an important call to make, and have a horrible signal on Sprint, but could get a good signal on VZW. It would be very useful then. I'm sure there are countless other situations when it would come in handy.

Really? I was always told by sprint that roaming was included on ALL of my minutes. I have had sprint before and had no problem using a lot of roaming minutes.
