Default Sprint Vision PRO + Teathering?

I could have sworn Sprint's Vision PRO package included tethering but it no longer can be found on the site AND I am told it does not include tethering. To make matters more confusing (cell phone companies seem to have advanced degrees in customer annoyance and confusion) I am told that I need a tether plan ($40) + a Vision Pack plan ($15+) to use the phone as a modem AND as an Internet phone. That doesn't make any sense...

So, does anyone have a clue as to what plan(s) I need to get Internet on the phone and via tethering? My tether usage will be very low, typically 5-10 MB a month every few months.

I have heard about PDANet, and other things but I am curious what others have found out. I am using a Q9C and am still within my 30 day trial. Sprint ticked me off so much with 3 different customer service people telling me 3 different things I am almost ready to go to AT&T and I really don't like them all that much. But I can at least understand their plans (as expensive as they are).

Thanks for any help, and I apologize if the post seems a tad hostile, Sprint really needs to simplify their plans or and train their staff.

I just found this blurb on the web site:

--
Sprint Power VisionSM Packs are not available with Sprint Mobile Broadband CardsTM, Sprint PCS Connection KitsTM, and cannot be used for phone-as-modem purposes.
Unless a Sprint Power VisionSM Pack is selected, customers with a Sprint Power VisionSM Phone will be charged 3¢ per kilobyte for Sprint Power VisionSM usage.

See: https://manage.sprintpcs.com/rpa/visionMatrix.html

This seems to imply that you CANNOT use the phone for Internet AND as a Modem unless you want to pay .03 KB. Unless the Phone as a modem INCLUDES web access which would make sense.

the 40 bux a month for tethering includes data usage on the phone...in other words, if you subscribe to the phone as modem plan you dont need a vision plan...they were wrong when they told you that...it's included

OK, that makes a lot more sense. I assume texting is NOT including with that plan?

Thanks

I use Pdanet with the $15 dollar plan works great. Sprint is none the wiser.

Is there a PAM option (pay or free) for SERO? I couldn't find one on the SERO site. All I could find are phone plans (that apparently include PDA data access @ $30 and up) and broadband access card plan @49.95.
