Default Sprint unlimited data plan discussion

So the unlimited data plan is $15/month correct? Has anyone been able to get this lower yet by talking to representatives? My friend said he heard about being able to get it for $5 per month or even free. Or is there a way to have the $15 cover texting? I know that verizon people are getting 2,000 free texts per month with the unlimited data plan somehow.

I got mine added to my plan for free....but it was when I bought the phone. I had mentioned canceling due to no good offers for customers who had been with the company for a long time (8 years in my case, out of contract for 4)...

I need some schooling. I have a 2000 anytime minute plan. I use about 500 minutes a month. If I get on the internet am I using minutes or data? Do I need a data plan?

Internet uses data, not minutes. If you get a SERO plan on Sprint it includes unlimited data for free. I got them to throw in 500 SMS/month for free as well. SERO is really the way to go if you're on Sprint, you just can't beat all the included free features they give you. Go to www.sprint.com/sero to find out more about it.

The trick with SERO is you have to have a Sprint employee approve the charge. Unlimited data with Sprint for a Q is best with the $15 package, as the $20 and $25 packages include buy-ups for Sprint TV and picture mail, neither of which is supported on the Sprint Moto Q. You can get it for $5 or free ONLY if you are on a grandfathered or retention plan, hassling in-store or customer service reps won't help, trust me.

The trick with SERO is to buck up and invest the time making repetitive calls to retentions. It may not seem like it is worth it off the bat or when you get denied the first 5-6 calls but when you kick off a $49.99 plan with 1250 minutes and unlimited Powervision you are laughing all day.

Next step is to be continually persistent and get other things like 5-15% discounts, free text messaging, etc.

Slickdeals.net is your friend.

Never heard of the SERO deal before, good to know.

If you are new with Sprint, try to price shop and let them know exactly what you are looking at. I hve been with Sprint for 7 years now and they have been great. I complained about dropped calls, spoke with customer service, and they offered me a $40 credit. I asked to get transferred to a supervisor and they gave me a $100 credit which I used towards a new phone.

Most recently when I got my Q, I renewed 6 months early but they gave me full credit towards a new phone. They also gave me calling from 7pm for free which was $5 before, free roaming, another $5, and free sprint to sprint, another 5. I have the tiered plan. It seemed that they were really willing to give those away along with an extra 500 texts per month. My internet went from $5 per month from my 8300 to $20/month. In all actuality, I ended up where I started, but with a much nicer phone and quicker internet.

I have tried many ways to deal with Sprint and hardball worked the least being a current long-standing client. If you are a new customer, they will do anything to get you and hardball may be the best to go.

Also, 411 is a ripoff. Call 1-800-Free411. It is absolutely free, only have to listen to some commercials but much better than pying over a buck every time.

Is powervision the same as vision and what does a sero plan include?

I live nowhere near EVDO. I called Sprint and asked them why they are charging me for a service I do not use (and cannot use). The CSR was polite about it, and took $5 off my monthly Vision charge. So now I'm only paying $10/month for unlimited data.

Oddly enough, Verizon just enabled EVDO in my market, and I can use all the EVDO data I want by forcing my phone to roam. It's nice watching Slingbox finally.

I hope I don't get charged for data roaming. I have voice roaming on my account, so I'm ready to fight if needed (I have never heard about data roaming charges). Guess at this point I don't care when Sprint decided to add EVDO to my area...I already use Verizon's EVDO! (and for only $10/month...muahaha!).
