Default Sprint Q in stores

At least the one I went to had one. I called up one of the retail stores in my town and asked, he said he'd just got two in that morning. I went by and played with one -- the black on charcoal coloring is quite sexy

I'm stuck on a Cingular contract until April 5, at which point I'll be making my way down to pick up a Q.

Anyway, if this place had it, I would imagine you could probably find it in stores now.

Is there a reason you're not going with Verizon's Q? Sprint seems to get the worst network rating from every review I've seen.

Also, if you're on Cingular, have you considered the BlackJack? It's a bit smaller than the Q (not necessarily in a good way), but it has better software (unless you want Wireless Sync on Verizon). It comes standard with an AOL Instant Messenger client, an RSS reader and some other programs.

I like my Q, and found the BlackJack a bit too small, but it's a nice looking Smartphone that's worth checking out.

I am staying with Sprint for the following reasons:
1. Unlimited data for $15/month
2. Much larger EVDO footprint in Indiana and Ohio
3. With Sprint's newest PRL's I can use data while roaming on Verizon.
4. N&W starting at 7 for no extra charge
5. And truly unlimited text messaging. No limit for messages to people not on Sprint unlike Verizon.

The biggest reason is the $15/month unlimited data plan. Cingular wants like $45/month. Also, I live in the Kansas City area so I am just a stones throw away from Sprint's HQ, coverage is quite good around here. From what I've been told by people working for Sprint is we actually have faster EVDO in our area then the rest of the nation due to upgraded software/equipment... that could be a bunch of crap though.

I'll be honest though, I really do like the Blackjack, it's a tie between the two. The only downside is that it seems a bit smaller then the Q to me. I've toyed around with calling Cingular retention and seeing if they can meet Sprint's prince on the data plan to keep me.

Edit: I've also had a lot of luck with Motorola phones. I've owned two Nokia's and then three Motorolas and the Motos have been the best phones. My fiancee has had two Samsungs and they've been major pains. Buggy as hell. After the first one I'm not sure why she wanted a second, but she isn't a fan of Samsung phones now.

I love their monitors though.

Default Unlimited EVDO

If that's unlimited EVDO data for $15 a month, that's pretty reasonable. I can't fault somebody for not wanting to pay an extra $30 per month.

Got my Sprint Q today! I went with Sprint for a similar reason. The SERO plan. VZW just can't come close to it. I get 500 minutes, unlimited nights/weekends, unlimited mobile to mobile, and unlimited data for $30/month. I even got them to throw in 500 SMS for free as well. You can't beat that with a stick, especially now that they have the Q.

How did you get SERO on the phone, I didn't see it listed on the SERO site?

From what I have read I have heard of people ordering a phone and then calling up Customer Service to get a return/exchange for the price of the phone they want. Many people were doing this before they listed the Treo 700wx online when only the 700p was available.

I too have Sprint and you can't beat the Unlimited Vision Plan. I currently have the $15 plan and it is waived due to loyalty discount. I think it is 5 bucks a month for me. I got a share plan with night and weekends at 6pm, unlimited mobile to mobile, 500 free txt messages on each phone line, %25 wells fargo employee discount...all for around 58 bucks a month. SERO would be the best plan but I can't get a service rep to switch my plan over.

Check here for tons of SERO information...

Yeah can't go wrong with the data plan...if you are an existing customer, you might have some luck to add it for free. I did....

**DING DONG*** Ups guy just dropped off my new Q. Overnight shipping from sprint...pretty good service in my book. Especially with all the perks they got me! YAY. Now I just have to wait for it to thaw out, its been in the single digits all day today, I am sure its been riding around in the UPS truck too...

Steve - I would also add that, at least here in Austin/Dallas/Houston, Sprint has really good service. I have been with them for 8 years and I have friends/buisness associates who have VZW or Cingular..oops..ATT and their phone service is very spotty. I read some of the reports you referred to and just don't see that here. Now, I know that Sprint is not that great as you get far away from the metro areas, but neither is ATT. Sprint now has an agreement for Roaming with VZW and I have roaming for free, so the service is good and the data plan, well, that was stated above (and I have that for free also!).
