I just got my August Sprint bill, and there is a blurb about Sprint PCS Mail going away 12/31/08:

well, the sprint mobile email application isn't available with the q9c. wonder what brilliant clown came up with this idea to get rid of it knowing that us smartphone users need it to send pictures since they won't give us a picture mail application.

the "mobile email" application is is provided by Seven systems. and since the Windows Mobile version is still in beta, I guess that's why it's not provided.
Assuming you have WM6 you will be able to have a fix for picture mail soon, other than that check out sMMS (go to www.ppcgeeks.com and search for someguy MMS)

heard about it on www.buzzaboutwireless.com (sprint's own forum)
they are apparently going to release an app (or maybe a software update, who knows) that will finally give picture mail functionality to WM6 devices

thanks paco. I usually read the sprint connection section on the kansas city star's website since sprint is headquartered right here in kc and I hadn't seen anything about it.

yeah, well they've been kinda quiet about it since that post. So I try to let as many people as I can know, that way we can keep the pressure on. It also helps to occasionally bump those threads on their forum...

I even asked a rep last night and she told me that the email rumor was not true. and they want us to be honest. :-/
