Sprint 700wx to Q Because of Bad Bluetooth - Question - Motorola Q Forum

I have a Treo 700wx for Sprint, which I love except for the horrible bluetooth - I cannot find any headset that has excellent sound quality and does not disconnect. This has always been an issue with Treos, therefore I am considering a Q.

Can someone please comment on the BT quality with the Sprint Q? Especially someone that had a Treo in the past.

Nevermind. After reading about all the bugs that the Sprint Q is plagued with, I will just put up with the only bug with my treo, the BT implementation...

Boy, you gave up fast. Don't read the bug report for the Treos...you may find yourself settling for a Startac!

I guess you read my post on the Q bugs...well, for the record, I have received a replacement Q and it's been flawless. Yes, my first unit was riddled with bugs, but my replacement is working better than any phone I've had (650, 700, 6700, had em all and they all had their share of issues).

To your question. Bluetooth on the Q is perfect. Any and all headsets are very loud and the connection is solid.

But it seems you've made up your mind based on a few internet complaints. May I suggest you try out a Q? I have not looked back to Treos or my huge 6700 for a second. The Q is awesome.

I appreciate your feedback. Believe me, I want the Q to work for me, but my 700wx has been rock solid except for BT, and you gotta admit that there are so many bug complaints on the forum to make me think twice. I two have had every Treo since the 600 which have all been riddled with bugs, but the 700wx is the first to be flawless (except for BT), so we cannot compare instability to previous models.

No problem. When I said 700 above, I was referring to the 700wx. I had a 6700, and jumped on the 700wx when it came out. I have to admit, the software was solid, and I agree bluetooth is a joke. I don't understand what Palm's problem is, but they have never understood how bluetooth should work. I laugh every time I see celebrities and executives using a Treo with bluetooth. I just know they are grumbling inside because it just simply sucks.

I ended up returning the wx and went back to my 6700 because I couldn't stand the low screen resolution of the wx. In that respect, the Q's screen is beautiful. Another big issue was the lousy outgoing voice quality (terrible in all Treos). Again, I don't understand why Palm can't select a better vendor for it's microphones. They are pitiful.

I guess it boils down to how important bluetooth is to you...oh, and going from WM to WM Smartphone is huge as well. Big difference, but I adapted in a few days. I don't miss the stylus at all, and I can do just as much with the Smartphone interface.
