Lightbulb Rev A on Moto Q?

I was having some problems with EVDO on my Moto Q (original). The CS person suggested that I try resetting the setting via ##3282 (##data). I tried that, got nothing, tried ##3282#, and got the config screen.

I noticed that one of the option under Advanced shows P_REV of IS-2000 REL A, which I believe is EVDO Rev A. Does that mean that the Moto Q now supports Rev A EVDO connection? Until I switched it from IS-2000 to IS-2000 REL A I had issues connectiong to sites - basically I would have a EVDO connection to the tower but was unable to send packets out for whatever reason.

I'm running MOL4 on the original Q. I'm curious to see if MOL2/3 people have REL A as an option for ##data#, as well as what the default is on the Q9c people. You will need the MSL in order to get to the Edit screen in order to see what your choices are. I haven't had any luck with ecare with trying to "upgrade" the phone to Q9c yet, gonna try again soon, but...^^

Hey Starfox and welcome to EQ!!

I might get seriously flammed for this but I thought that Rev. A would have to be a totally different wireless radio. I could be wrong. But I think it is like the difference between the Edge phones and the 3G phones. Just because Rev. A or 3G is being broadcast or sent out doesn't mean that all phone have the capability to use that type of internet. I know my buddy has an HTC Harold/Tmobile Wing and he only has EDGE even though 3G is out there. Hopefully that makes sense and hopefully I'm not leading you a stray.

Never the less, no Rev. A is not possible on the Q or Q9.

I know that Sprint is supposed to be making an update available for the Mogul in the first quarter of this year that will make it Rev A capable, but I don't know if that is possible only as a result of the software update or because the hardware on the Mogul was already had the capability to support Rev A built in.

Rev A would be nice on my Q9c, but I have also heard that neither the Q nor the Q9's would support Rev A . . . we'll see, I guess.
