Default Q unable to regain signal sporadically

After exiting the subway (where there is no signal), my Q is unable to find a signal. This happens to the phone about half the time.

The last time it happened was during this morning's commute, here's some more detail of exactly what happened:
  • Train underground (no signal)
  • Train emerges from the ground and travels across the bridge (able to use web browser / data)
  • Train goes back underground after crossing the bridge (page load times out / no signal)
  • Leave subway, go to office (continued no signal) <--- weird situation
When I restart the phone, I have all four bars. Is there some software that will allow me to restart the 'radio'? It's not an OS reporting issue, it definitely doesn't have signal, tried calling my phone and the phone never picked up the call.

If you hold down Home and then go to B Wireless Manager, you can turn off bluetooth, the phone radio, or both.

Thank you! That seems to work. I've also noticed that sometimes, even if the phone says it doesn't have signal, I can still place calls.

Also, for data services, looks like since I can't turn it on and off via that screen, I need to reboot the phone in order to get that to work. Kind of lame, but I can deal...

I might look into the update as well. Just noticed this happening to me as I cross between roaming and Sprint networks often.

I have the same trouble with my phone. On the train I lose service (obviously). When I come out of the subway I still have no service until I reboot my phone. Then the phone says..."Phone Off"

At that point I have to make a call just to turn the phone on.

Any help?
