Pretty much the same here... of course I backed everything up first. I just had to reinstall a few programs, and reset up my mail account. My custom home screen didn't even change

It could have been worse... but I didn't get unlucky.

Thanks to both of you for the suggestion. The only email account I have set-up is for our Exchange Server. I'm not clear how I would delete this. After the Update I input the settings and it Syncs properly (Direct Push). Any ideas how I can reset this?

Send/receive won't show if activesync is in doing a sync. or other accounts are doing send/receive.

You can reset settings by going to Start- ActiveSync- menu- Options.. Click menu and delete.
Then go back to activesync- Menu - Configure server and add the settings again.

I'm starting to suspect that the battery life "improvement" was more a change in how the battery level indicator functions than how quickly the battery actually drains. I reported originally that I have 4 bars around noon when was normally @ 3 bars... but after a week of normal usage I am finding that I still have 1, maybe 2 bars by the time I go to bed and plug the device in. As of today my battery (without any software or usage changes) is actually performing about the same as it did pre-MOL3. It's 4PM here and I have 2 bars, just like I normally did a month ago.

I'm considering a hard reset just to start over since I have all my contacts, etc. in Outlook, just in case something else is going on...

Default Phone as a Modem no longer working

I just upgraded to MOL3 on my Sprint-based Q and now I can not use the phone as usb modem any longer. Windows will not see the COM port.

Default Problems with the program to fix the hidden mail accounts

If you were having difficulty getting around the hidden mail accounts issue, I found another program that worked for me.

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-...nt-repair.html

Note that you have to download the program and copy it to your Q and then run it from there. The repair didn't work for me, but delete worked perfectly.

Default bluetooth GPS won't connect anymore

Hi,

Since the update, I can't connect to the bluetooth GPS receiver.

I am paired with it, but WLC or google map will not connect to it.

Has anyone able to connect with the GPS receiver since the upgrade?

Thanks,

I had to enable "enable advanced network functionality".

It's weird. For my laptop, the active sync does not work, if I have this enabled.

My laptop is running XP pro SP2. My desktop running XP Home SP2 will sync with this enabled or not.

1- Power off the phone
- Set the phone on a table, Press and hold A and Enter with one hand (pinky and index finger)
- Plug the USB cable in.
- If everything was done is sequence, you should see phone boot up in Flash mode, if not then it will just power up in normal windows mode.

2- Power off the phone
- Take the batter out
- Press and hold A and Enter while putting the battery in.
- Then follow the instructions that I've posted on Qusers.com

Start/Open Motorola Software update*Put it in Flash Mode: One of the methods above
*It will then ask you to install Motorola Flash Interface. Install it

If you get error code 10 or if it does not install properly..
Keep the phone hooked up with the USB cable.
Go into device manager, Right click on "motorola Flash Interface" with yellow ! mark on it and click Uninstall.

Unplug Q, Plug it back in..
Continue with the installation of motorola flash interface... You might get the Yellow ! mark again in device manager, (Dont worry!)
*uninstall it again from device manager
*Unplug Q
*Hook it up again. (Keep phone in flash mode)
*The Motorola Flash interface should now install properly.

*Then Open motorola software update tool
and Pick Sprint as your service provider and Q as the device.

Follow the instructions to start upgrade..
After several failed attempts of MOL3 update, I was stuck every time at 0% progress during the update phase. I followed these instructions in post #50 and the update took just fine. The personal settings were restored as well.

Default battery life

not sure if this will help anyone else, but i had been originally charging my new q with my old razr charger. i noticed the battery life was pretty poor, i had to charge at least every night to make it through the day at work. at work, my signal was really good, with almost full signal for the entire day. i would surf the web about 10 or 15 min a day, did not use the built-in email, and talked on the phone about 30 min a day. after updating to mol3, it seemed like my battery life had gotten better as i had full battery at lunchtime, but it would still result in the battery dying after dinner. this past weekend i took out the new charger, charged it saturday night, and have not needed to charge since - i still have 2 bars of battery. i followed the advice of others in changing the gps option to 911 only and killing apps i wasnt currently using. its hard to tell which variable(s) is directly correlated in helping to increase the battery life (probably a combination of everything), but i thought this might be of use to someone.
