PhoneNews.com is reporting that Motorola has issued an update for the Moto Q, but that it doesn't list what it does.

Has anyone installed the update? What does it do.

If it fixes some of the issues that I am having with it...I just might keep it.

I just downloaded the update, but it won't run on Vista. I just upgraded both my PCs with the free copies of Vista Premium I got for being a beta tester, so I can perform the update. Super lame. I'll have to borrow a friends PC this weekend or something.

Hey Guys Im A Sprint Rep Who Is Also A Fellow Q Owner... While at work i was messing around with the repair computers i work on... and fell upoin the new software updates for most pda's.... Lo and Behold the Q has a new update released March 6th to all retail stores who do service and repairs.. techs dont know its there so if you go you will need to beg it out of them and make them update your phone but make sure its all backed up, if you like doing it yourself then also know that motorola site will have it for download on the 14th which is basically tomorrow =)... this update fixes the sprint bug on the internet not working and giving you an error unable to make call, also for some reason fixes my battery life ever since the update my battery has lasted 2 days straight without charging.. =) Good Luck and i hope ive helped a few of you guys out there

it will fix a couple of issues with the sprint q, one being the internet error coming up when trying to connect ERROR:UNABLE TO MAKE CALL and also indirectly it also improves the battery life my battery went from lasting only 4 hours to actually lasting 2 full days stretched i installed it on the 6th since i work at sprint and im one of the ones who fixes the phones

I feel your pain as well. I no longer have any non-Vista computers in my home and my work laptop is Vista Business. If Moto had the common courtsey to not package the update as a Windows installer package then we could just run it in compatibility mode with Admin privileges. If I find a way to run it I will post it here for all Vista Q users. More to the topic, has anyone seen the fix list for this update? Thanks.

Well, those are the two issues that I was having with the Q that encouraged me to take it back. Looks like I might have to keep it.

Anyone else have experiences with it yet?

Ok i need some help. I cannot get MSU to recognize my phone. It just will not do it. I have reinstalled it, plugged my phone into 3 different USB ports and even uninstalled and reinstalled activesync. What the heck am i doing wrong? Anyone help me please???

I just updated my phone and the update process was buggy as hell. I had to restart the phone a few times, plug out then back in a few times, once it said
not connected, once it froze in middle of update said no internet connection available etc. I just kept plugging and unplugging, turning off then on again and it finally worked!!!
I just hope it gave my Q some better reception cuz' this last Q I got gets worse reeption than the first 2 sprint Q's I had(goin' on my 3rd sprint Q.) It says it updates the radio so I'm hopeing it'll fix my Q and bring it up to 2 bars like my other Q's.
