Can someone please help? | The problem that I had is that it would ask to reconnect right at the start of the update. What I ended up doing was unplugging it and putting it in flash mode before the software realized the phone was disconnected. What you need to do is- Unplug USB cable, pull out battery, put back the battery, hold down the "a" and the "enter button" while plugging the USB cable back, the software should then recognize. Worked like a charm with only one restart needed (which was automatic, I didn't have to touch it).
I am a authorized dealer and when I took mine to a corporate service center for the update, the serviceman told me I HAD to take it home to do it (even though on the sprint powerdeck update it tells you you can take it to a service center to have it done). I am going to be lodging a complaint against them on monday. |

Tbone | The Q does sync with Vista you just need to download "Mobile Device 6" free from Microsoft. |

| Sprint Update Hey all, after reading many of the problems people have had, I went out in a limb and decided to install the sprint update. I got one error during installation, had to pull the battery and after doing so the update continued as the "help" screen said it would. I did lose google maps, but that's a simple reinstall from the web. However, I did encounter another error after the update was complete, if it's already been posted, I appologize for bringing it up again. After everything was complete, my home screen said "Phone Off" and the date and time were inncorrect. I pulled the battery thinking that would fix it, and it didnt. After having played around, all you need to do is dial a number and hit send, you'll then get a message asking you, if you would like to turn the phone on, simply select yes it turns the "radio" on and also adjusts the time and date for your location. Other than the abovementioned items, the phone seems to be running great, and I've noticed slightly faster connectivity to the net.

D | Yep if you read all the instructions that motorola wanted you to print, it discused having to change your time zone again, amoung other things. However I am pretty sure the update didn't turn my phone off.... kinda strange.

It seems like everyone has different bugs popping up, I just noticed another change today, not that it's a big deal, more so just an annoyance. If I go into the media center, it no longer previews the images, it only lists the file names. Oh well cant have it all I guess... but yeah I never printed out the directions, let alone read them I just relied on what everyone else here said, only for the simple fact that what Motorola says, isnt always what happenes, let alone gives you a work around for the problem. Luckily I only had one minor problem, not the "expensive paper weight" ending that some have had. |

The update then finished without problems. I have noticed the few updates that people have mentioned but i am still frustrated that i cannot receive calls while using the data service on the phone (AKA on the internet or checking email. I have the sprint power vision data plan. I believe this deals with the DDTM feature and some users have posted that the update is supposed to correct this issue but it did not on my particular phone. The other issue that i have with the phone is that there are many times where if i plug the phone into the AC outlet charger it beeps but the icon doesnt change from battery to the plug icon. I then disconnect and reconnect the AC adapter from the phone and it works. Some people have mentioned doing a master reset to correct charging issues. Let me know your comments, Thanks. | I got the update info from motorola. My phone was purchased late enough in march to have the update already installed. The latest updated software version, FYI is:
Q2-BP_C_06.26.00R
MP_BSP_C_02.07.61-49P_HW_P2.1
You can check to see if your phone is updated by:
Pressing Start
Scrolling to settings
Go to more, then more again
Go to phone settings
Go to phone information
But i may be the only one who didn't know how to check this. Having nothing to compare my phones' performance to except my previous treo 600 i'm still getting used to it and cannot offer much opinions yet.
Thanks for the reply! |

1. when i have a reminder it constantly beeps EVERY second until i dismiss it....it used to beep every few minutes.
2. when i go into a zone with no service, my bluetooth constantly beeps every second also. on addition, when i go back into an area with service, my phone NEVER finds the new service! it continually says no service and the bluetooth headset continues to beep every second until i restart both the headset and phone.
3. the time on the phone is 1 hour back....do i have to reinstall the windows mobile fix for this??
