Default New Q Owner

I'm not sure this is the right place but here it goes. I have a new Motorola Q witht he sprint service and I'm very frustrated. I can't seem to set-up my phone with my home e-mail account. I am able to receive new e-mails but for the life of me I can't send an e-mail. I have been on the phone with both Sprint and Road Runner (my isp) and still nothing. Hopefully someone here can shed light on this since I'm about to throw this thing out the window.

many ISP's do not allow relaying, which means you can only send mail when being on their connection..

I am a Sprint and Roadrunner customer as well. I have Outlook '07 on my home pc and I am not able to send or receive emails on my Q. If I have my Q connected to my pc via the usb cord and an email comes in then I will get it on my Q too. But other than that nothing. I have outlook set up to send me a text message when I receive an email but haven't gotten that to work correctly either. Since I don't use my Q for business, I have just resigned myself to the fact that I can't use my Q for the purpose of sending or receiving emails via Roadrunner. And I don't want to switch back to my hotmail email address, though that is the only one I was able to get working consistently.

if you had done a search on this you would probably find your answer...with roadrunner's email you need to use sprint's outbound mail server....roadrunner incoming...sprint outbound....then you will be able to snd and recieve roadrunner email just fine....you will need to setup a sprint email account and use your username and password for the outbound settings....the sprint outbound mail server is; smtp.sprintpcs.com and it does require authentication...no ssl

did a search.....tried that and still a no go! Of course, I could have set it up wrong but don't assume a search wasn't done or that no effort was put into setting it up.
I will try again and see if i can get it to work. Thanks so much for your help.

you have to set it up, log into your sprint.com account from the internet and click on sprintpcsmail...that will register the account and tell you what your email address is...your username is everything before the @ sign. And your password will most likely be what you use to login to your account online. ATS 'should' be well versed in helping set this up if you call them.....dial *2 and ask for advanced tech support, or support for pda's
