im going to stick to my guns that it was an accident for warranty purposes
my story is that i woke up to bootloader mode, ran the software update to fix it, and didnt realize i had the vzw version installed. so i put it back into flash mode and ran the sprint update. actually, i have had no pushback from the store techs I talked to, they all seem to beleive its a simple mistake to make.
theoretically, yes the vzw firmware has MMS, and some other changes I was, um, glad to have an opportunity to play with.
what I have discovered is that the vzw Q firmware contains a vzw "flex"
anyone familiar with the moto modding community should know what this is
the sprint firmware does not contain a sprint flex. thus my phone now has sprint firmware..but vzw flex.
I tried several sprint stores but I live in an iPCS area so you can imagine the response I got...
At this point I am hoping to get ahold of a motorola-branded flex. Actually, I wouldnt have a problem with the verizon flex, if the HDR username and password were not locked in it, which they are, so no power vision...
and to answer what was i thinking... i knew the worst case scenario would be what I have now - I see it as motivation to pick up a mogul, if I cant get it fixed. If I sell my Q, I will likely flash vzw firmware and program it for cricket, and sell as a cricket-compatible Q.
