If you load ActiveSync from the CD that came with the Q and if you read the manual, it is fairly straight forward. It can even do a lot of it automatically for you depending on the type email account you have.

Assuming you want to setup your Sprint POP email...

You may need to call Sprint to setup your email account, but if it already is, it's pretty easy, you can check it from your PC too. Let's assume your Sprint email is bob@sprintpcs.com for this example...
  • Open up pocket Outlook
  • You'll see "Text Message" & "Outlook Email", if not click Menu and choose Switch Accounts
  • Go into the Outlook Email account
  • Click Menu, and choose options
  • Choose new account
  • Put in your name
  • put in your sprint emaill address, for example bob@sprintpcs.com
  • Uncheck automatic setup
  • click next
  • Put the first part of your email as the username, for example "bob"
  • Put in your sprint email password
  • click next
  • Put in your name
  • bob@sprintpcs.com
  • Uncheck automatic setup
  • click next
  • Change the account name to what you want Outlook to call it, for example "Sprint PCS Email"
  • Leave "The Network" alone, or change it to "The Internet"
  • click next
  • Incoming server is pop.sprintpcs.com
  • Do not check SSL
  • Outgoing is smtp.sprintpcs.com
  • Check outgoing server requires authentication
  • You can click on the blue hyperlink text if you want to use a different outgoing server than your Sprint account...
  • click next
  • I like to go with last 5 days, choose what you want
  • I also like to go with "Entire Message"
  • click next
  • I like to go with "Every 15 minutes"
  • click next
  • click finish
