| Need Help, can't see icons when i press start okay, I have been loading a whole bunch of Homescreen apps and had a problem with one of them (picture would stay on instead of blank white screen, when i hit start and other options, like call history, miss calls, settings, etc.etc...), where it would not default back to the basic view. So I deleted the picture, now my basic blank white picture is nowhere to be found. So when i hit start, all that comes up is the top blue bar and the bottom blue bar and the homescreen is in the background. No icons whatsoever. Now I did have this icon list program on (don't know if that is the problem).
So i have to keep hitting start botton to get to the programs (and that sucks), no icons or anything. Can someone please help me with this?
Thanks

| This sounds like a problem that happens when loading some applications -- the Start menu goes away. A reset should clear it up.

Thanks | if you use active sync and outlook then your contacts and calendar events will sync back as long as you have sync the Q before
not sure but you sure can remove the card just in case
and yes you will have to reload the programs...a master reset will erase everything...
even though you may have installed the programs on the SD card they will not work...better to install again and write over them |

So I know that the contacts are saved to a file pim.vol (i think, not sure). So how do i reload the contact file and calendar info?
Thanks again, |

| i believe that is true...although i have never done that....
i suppose it COULD be as eay as just over writing the pim.vol file that is created after the master reset

-Sent from my Q | Yeah, I know i read somewhere (forum) that you can copy the pim.vol file (on your memory card) and if your phone was reset, it could be copied back over with the backup copy.
Okay so what about the calendar enteries? Do you know what file that information in under?
I really hate that you can't just backup the basic things like contact and calendar then reload it. I know there are back up software out there, but I don't want to backup the same bad files that caused the damage in the first place. Is there any software out there that will backup just certain files? I know asking for it to be freeware is asking for too much, huh?
Thanks |
