Default miniSD card

everything I've seen says the Q supports a 2gig miniSD card however when I got my Q the other day there was an insert with amendments to the manual and it has a line saying the device supports up to a 1gig card. I'm just wondering if I can actually use a 2gig before I go spend the money

A 2 GB card will work. Some are using 4 GB cards.

Really? Personally, I wouldn't buy that, because I've heard of various problems, but they exist.

Maybe you should check out the 4GB mini SD cards thread.

Mine does, too. In fact, I don't know why they're saying 1 GB is the limit. I know there are some older Windows Mobile devices that only support a 1 GB card, but I haven't found any problems with my 2 GB card yet.

I have heard of some issues with SanDisk Ultra II 2 GB cards, so maybe Motorola is playing it very carefully. (My card is a SanDisk non-Ultra card, so it's not an overall SanDisk issue.)

My Sprint Q came with that insert too, I happened to have a 1GB MiniSD card that I bought by mistake in the past (I wanted a MicroSD), and I've been using that. But yah I would bet a 2GB would work fine, seems with larger sizes some people have been having problems with certain brands, check the various threads on it...

Verizon told me the same thing when I got my Q. Personally with verizon I think it's because they only carry 1GB cards. They want you to buy from them at 60 a pop and most people will because they won't do the research.
