Anyways ..
I am not out of contract and I have been with Sprint since 2001 ..
Loyal customer and pay on time all the time ..
Some tips with calling in ..
Call these numbers because they direct you to the Retentions Department .
But do not ask "Is this retentions?"
They will know that you are trying to get something for discount or free .
Some guidelines .
Be Patient - They love people who are patient
Never give up - Try 3-6 times a day and have some days of rest in between
Play stupid a bit - Say that you were considering going to Verizon Wireless because they are offering a Q for $99 for new customers. I told them that I have been through 5 phones in the last 6 months [true fact, I always get defective phones =/] Then I said I love sprints service but Verizon is willing to take care of me and give me a good plan and a Q for $99. I also told them that "Did you know that Sprints customer service is top notch?. You guys arent as pushy as Verizon, Cingular and Tmobile". I just played stupid a bit and say that I dont know if I want to switch or not I think the Q is a nice phone ...
If you are male - look for a female rep and flirt a bit

Well not flirt as in getting their number but just be super nice, polite and initiate a conversation [How is your day going? and so forth]
BE PATIENT!
Hope that helps you out .
