Got mine for $99 from retention.

I had taken my old T608 and called *2 after a long trip to Europe to get my service back up. Then, I lost that beloved phone, and took on a refurbed big thing. Then I took on a Samsung A460, which was terrible.

On a whim last week I called Sprint, they put me through to retention, and retention hooked me up, since I had never gotten a rebate on this contract. It was incredible. Also, very nice to get a new phone 3 months before my eligibility to get out of my contract.

Rating or review Paul's Comment re: Q for $100...if you're new.

Quote:
As I understand it, a NEW customer at sprint can get the Q for $100 (450 - 250 - 100 MRI). Under their 'upgrade' plan, existing customers can get it for $200 (450 - 150 - 100 MRI). Does this strike anyone else as odd/stupid?

Has anybody argued this with CS? (I qualify for the upgrade plan but if they won't give me the Q for $100 I'll tell them I'm going to cancel and may re-up (to get the $100 price), but since I have to go past the Verizon store on my way to the Sprint store...).

Paul.
--I'm a Sprint customer since '98 and got my Q for $99 with the "new to you" $150 re-up. I signed a 2-yr contract, but got the Q for the $99.

BTW: Verizon offers the Q now for $79. Not sure what strings are attached...or whether they're worth $20.

The Verizon deal is problematic because even though you get the phone for $79, it requires that you get unlimited data on the plan. I think this option is an additional 40 bucks. Anyway, the deal requires that you sign up for a Voice/Data plan - which starts at $79.99 itself per month.

On Sprint, you can get the voice plan for 40 and unlimited data for 15, which totals at $55 per month. So the Sprint savings is $25 per month, so in the very first month, the Sprint Q user saves over the Verizon user, and over the course of a year, it would be $280, and over two years $580. So, it's a huge savings.

And a whole lot of math. LOL Glad the Q has a calculator in it.

Exclamation

That's a little excessive...re: Verizon's $79 Q. I figured the fine print made it a little more "interesting."

Default I got no deal :-(

Hats off to those of you that were able to get somewhere with Sprint. I tried several times, and got no where. I did speak to a friendly guy that tried to figure out why I wasnt even able to get the upgrade discount, seeing as I had been with Sprint for well over a year. This is what was found, I had bought a Treo 650 (huge mistake) from a friend, I called Sprints c.s. to have it activated. The lady I spoke to (barely spoke english btw) was eager to help me and did switch my service to the Treo, however she neglected to add in some other important info on my account, that the phone (Treo) was used and it was NOT a purchased new phone upgrade. Because of her failing to do so, when I went to purchase my Q, I was told that I wasnt eligible for anything because I had just upgraded a few months ago. To make a long story short, I ended up paying $480.00 for my Q, (That's how much I hated the Treo) I even asked if they could throw in a blue tooth headset or car charger, I was told, no sorry we dont do that. I guess I'll just have to suck it up and deal with the loss of the money, and the everlasting question as to why Sprint doesnt care about their current customers..

DHeck,

You really need to call retention and complain. The thing you need to know about the system is that only retention can do anything about the rebate mess. So, give it a shot. They really want to keep customers. They don't make any money losing customers.

Sprint, 4.00+tax through retentions. It took a few hours of phone calls to get them to pricematch VZW @ 79.99. Once they did i demanded my 75.00 off for my 1yr eleigibility for my hassle and inconvience. They denied it at first, and i kept on them. I was on the phone (the last time) for 1hr 45min but i ended up getting the 75.00 off after they pricematched it. They also threw in free overnight shipping. So 4 bucks

This is the same day i argued for a retention plan: $40 for 1,000 A/T, unl n&w @ 7 for free, unlimited txt for free, m2m for free, powervision pack for free, roaming included, and FIMF for free. With my insurance its 47+tax.

oh and no upgrade/act fees

Messing up my plan and contract 4.5 months in a row just cost them quite a bit of money lol

I'd love to call and complain to retentions; however, what could they do for me now?
