Probably right. But as I mentioned in an earlier post, I've only been a Sprint customer since June of last year. Was just kind of hoping I could buy the Q and sell my 700p for the same amount of money (and keep my current plan). Guess I'll just "suffer" and wait it out. <grin>

I just switched back over to Sprint and got the Motorla Q. I was trying to finish canceling my family contract I had with Sprint, as i had already ported out one of my numbers. The rentention business department did not want me to leave! I told them i had to eat a 200 dollar termination charge and would have to buy the Q at 200 to come back, not worth it to me.

So he went to bat and it took over 1 hour and half to get it where it would work for me. I got the phone for 50 bucks on my first bill, 100 service credit and my plan is 1000 anytime nationwide minutes, unlimited internet and unlimited txt for 56/mth + tax.

I have to pay the termination charge but in the end it will make up as im saving about 40 bucks a month on my plan!

Through retention $150 plus 15% off on monthly bill plus $15 for unlimited data line for 2 phones with 500 text messages each at no extra cost.

It took 4 times for me to get it for the price I wanted. The first time I called retentions, the woman dropped it down to 349.99. I told her I would think about it. Called back and got a price tag of 299.99. Said the same thing, I would think about it. The third time the guy wouldn't budge, and said I wasn't eligible and I would have to pay 449.99 plus tax. The fourth time was the charm. The woman looked at our account and said let me see what I can do for you. She was like you have an excellent plan, and this is what I can do I can give it to you for the 299.99 and the MIR I can take right off the top which would put you at 199.99. I said cool, let's do it! So that's my Q story.

Default How much did you get your Q for?

Simple, call sprint be pleasant. Ask for the phone for 199 or 149(verizon deal went up to 149 i believe) or even 99... when they say no. say you wish to cancel your service. They will inform you you are in a contract and you have a penalty. Say ok... I'll pay my bill, but I am not paying the penalty. So cancel my account or transfer me to someone who can. They will transfer you to retention. Explain to retention you wanted the Q, you told the sales rep about it when you got service. And they express you could get it at the going rate. So that is all you are asking for. if they say no. say ok. I will activate service with verizon and call back and cancel. When they again remind you about your cancellation fee. Chuckle and say whatever. I'll pay my bill and let you guys worry about that. If they do not offer any more say thank you and good bye. Wait a day. Call the CORPORATE customer service number (listed on the contact us page at the bottom with the address) and ack for someone to speak with about customer service complaint. Simply and pleasantly explain your fustration with the different stories from sales reps to cust svc reps about what you can and cant do. Not only do you want to cancel your service, but you wish to file a complaint as well. The notes should reflect your desire for the Q at what price. They will ask if you are given that would that satisfy you, respond "that and if everyone could be on the same page (you must sell your fustration). The reps in the store work for sprint as do the reps on the phone. If everyone was on the same page you would not be making this phone call" you'll get your Q at the price and have to sign a new 2 yr agreement. However, you just got service a few months ago(or didnt plan on leaving anyway) so no big deal. This has worked for 13 ppl I have mentioned it to. With absolutely no problems. Only time.... How much is your time worth? A new Q



ps... i got my Q free..... using this technique
pps .. this can be used for any phone. Just research costs before you call.

I have been with Sprint 7 years and have excellent service, However I will never step foot in a sprint Nextel store. Horrible CS

I just recently upgraded to a Q and all that was said is that I was exploring other options with Verizon?

Make a long story short I got my Q for $70.00 and overnight delivery.

For those of you that dont Know?
Sprint lost about 300,000 customers last year to other carriers? OUCH

I am completely 100% fed up with Sprint. Their Sprint Store lied to me about having a Q in stock...when I showed up with a recently purchased a900m to return, it turns out they didn't have it, but a store 20 minutes away had it. It was my only day off, so I went...they didn't have it, but he said the store I was just at had it.

Anyway...long story short, 4 phone calls to non-english speaking sprint CSR's and 3 days later, I bought a Verizon Moto Q...returned my a900m to sprint outright, just got done calling in to cancel my Sprint service, and she hooked me up.

I told her too little too late...I explained to the CSR's 3 times already that over the next 2 years I'm going to be spending $2000+ in monthly bills and that all I have to pay is a $150 early termination fee...and they didn't want to do a single thing.

Anyway, she made me a pretty good deal and is shipping me one overnight. As much as I absolutely HATE what happened to me, I did get hooked up on the phone and my monthly plan...

It's ridiculous...anyone can act nice when they're about to lose a customer...what they need to do is act nice and take care of their customers before it even gets to that point. I'm not entirely thrilled because the one time I did call VZQ CS, I got a very helpful english speaking lady that even asked about what was happening in the superbowl...

Sprint needs to wise up if they care about their customers. If it wasn't for the fact that my girlfriend has Sprint and isn't willing to switch to Verizon, and the fact that Verizon's data plan is double, I would have switched no matter what deal this lady at Sprint tried to give me.

Update:
I wound up getting it for 120.00. The woman at Sprint only charged my cc 120.00 and my bill just came out reflecting all charges for this month and the phone was not charged to my account either. That works for me
