How can I allow calls to come through while I am doing other things on my Motto Q 9C

I was hoping someone could tell me how I can allow my calls to come through while I am doing other things on my phone such as watching tv/sprint navigation/internet etc...I miss all my calls while using such features and my lifestyle doesn't permit that. I need to be able to be interrupted in case my children call. Now, I am afraid to use any of these feature because my calls DO NOT interrupt me...they just go directly to voice mail. Please advise. i believe if you are in a 1X area it will not work
you need to be in an EVDO area for your internet usage to be interupted by a phone call

as far as other apps not using internet/data access.. in my case they are always interrupted by an incoming call.

I guess it makes a difference from what others have said with the interruption issue I'm having. I guess I can't be interrupted if I am in the 1X as opposed to the EV/DO

Dear Rudeboy,

But do you have the Motto Q 9C? Cuz, I'm told two different stories by different people. Some say that I can be interrupted by phone calls while I'm on the internet and others are saying that the PDA's you can't be interrupted. I wish I knew for sure and if I can be interrupted how to program that to work in such a way.
