You'd also lose any of your carrier's customizations (on Verizon, that would be Wireless Sync, the Home screens, etc.). You may be able to get those some other way, but I don't know what hidden things you might lose (like Internet access).

I misunderstood then. I was reasoning that he wanted to flash in order to use his Moto Q on a different provider. BTW, the lack of MMS on Sprint, Alltel, and USCC Moto Q's is not a hardware deficiency from what I have heard, rather it is a matter of the software being blocked out because the carriers, with the exception of Verizon, aren't supporting the network changes required to run MMS from the Q.

Actually it's a money thing. If you aren't on an unlimited data plan and were able to use MMS, you could simply attach pics & documents to txt messages and send without being charged for data use.

It's always about money. Lock MMS up, and you get more money for data use.

i made a fix for the flash mode of death to

okay so this is my second q and im completly pissed off.
the first ones screen turned black and never started up after
but because of my warantee i was allowed free phones for a year. it
got replaced then the next day my friend dropped it into her hot tub.
water damage broke my warantee. my phone was fixed finally and worked
fine for like 2 weeks. now i have this stupid bootloader shit happening
and im now im fucked out of this phone too, im not paying for a new cell
because of this wreckage moto calls a phone. so can someone tell me how
to fix it without another working cell.

a) how was it 'fixed' after being dropped in the hot tub?
b) have you tried updating the rom version?

ive had this bootloader message, and i broughtt it into a service sprint center and they replaced it for a new one (i have the insurance plan)... and nither could they get any information from the phone. and this happened twice only the second time they replaced it for the qc9 for the old q was out of stock...
so now ive got the new qc9 and its a little bigger then the old one besides for the extended battery.

Well, I loaded the Verizon firmware onto my Sprint Q but the problem now is I no longer have access to Sprint's network. I tried to reflash it by going onto Motorola's website, selecting Sprint as my carrier, and downloading the Motorola Software Update for it but every time I try it says, "Your mobile device already has the latest available software. Please check back for new releases." I even tried deleting the motorola folder, installing from flash mode, but always the same message. After hours of searching these threads, I'm at a total loss. Hope someone can help.

I assume you're kidding but if not, Q9h software is definitely not possible since the Q9h is GSM. The only reason a person should if at all flash their Q9c to Verizon is because they have Verizon and for some reason just didn't get a Q9m so if you flashed your Q9c to Verizon software and still wanted to use your Sprint service then obviously you know now that you can't. If you don't like the Q9c software then I bet you can find a generic monster but I'm only assuming because I know I found a generic Q monster for Sprint. Use RSD Lite to flash it and good luck with your Q9c.
