Default Firmware and Software Update

i was looking for Firmaware and software update. I found one on Motorola's website but it says its only for Verizon. Does anyone know if this will work with the Sprint version. Anyhelp because i do see some quircks in the software and was looking for an update. I went to a Sprint service center and they had no clue about the Q.

What quircks does your Q have? Far as i know Sprint Q is up to date. Firmware/software.

vzw firmware will not work on a sprint Q...as far as i know there are no new software updates...and even once there are taking it into a sprint store won't do anything...the technicians aren't allowed to do anything as far as software on smartphones/pda's go

Not sure about the firmware update, however, a motorola level I technician had me use a verizon program last week to update my server security certificate - it worked fine.

Well I lose my connection to the Internet. I try to access it and it says "Error unable to place call" I have to reboot the phone inorder for it to reconnect. When I receive a call and go to answer it sometimes the phone freezes and i dont receive the call. Those are just a few problems I am experiencing.

Did you try settings/PCS vision/Update vision profile. That fixed "Error unable to place call" for me. As far as the freezng, sounds like a defective unit. My first sprint Q would not end a call if it was over 20 mins. long.

There is an update for the Sprint Moto Q. You can download the update wizard from the Motorola website. You have to change your selection under the Verizon setting to Sprint. The wizard will then download and check your phone software version. The current version is MP_BSP_C_02.07.61-49P_HW_P2.1. I had an earlier version (...61-37P...). You can check your phone settings to see if you already have the current version or the updater can do it for you. The update will erase all third party applications so make sure you back them up. I use Sprite Backup and it restored my device with no problems. I dont know exactly what the update does, but I do notice my device runs a little faster.

If their updater wipes my third-party apps then it will have to be one Hell of an update for me to do it, lol. BTW, did you get the updater from the main Moto Support site? I did not have the option to choose Sprint as a carrier. Thanks.

Thats weird ? I went back to the Moto Support site and traced my steps and it doesnt give me the option to choose Sprint either. I swear I just did the upgrade not even 3 hours ago.
