Default Customer Rep told me internet was free

I ordered my motorola q from sprint about a week ago directly through them on the phone. I asked the rep a lot of questions about fees and whatnot because I was switching from nextel and there were just a buttload of fees from them. She told me that the only taxes on the bill are $1.50 and that internet comes free with the phone.

After reading these forums and people talking about SERO and data plans, it seems that the internet is not free. Of course I would get charged for using the internet.

Now, using what she said could I use that as pull to get unlimited internet? Because I would not have bought the phone if it wasnt unlimited. Any tips on what I should do? I already have been surfing the web and I'm terrified of what my bill might look like.

And is it true that the only tax and fees that would show up on my bill are $1.50? On nextel they amounted to about $15 haha

What monthly plan did you talk with the rep about? Maybe internet / data is included in the plan you are getting (and maybe that's why the rep may have said there isn't any add'l fees for internet)?

For example, I'm with VZW, my plan is $79.99 a month which includes 450 voice minutes and unlimited internet.

I have the $39/month plan which, on the website, does not say anything about unlimited internet. Yet there is another plan section for unlimited mobile broadband which I think only applies to mobile cards.

I just switched to Sprint from Nextel also. Its true that Nextel's bills are always so much higher. In the plan I choose with Sprint I have 900 minutes for 59.99 and I pay another $15 for unlimited web browsing. You should call and talk to a representative about it or go into a Sprint store. As far as taxes, you have to pay your state and local tax and some other crap so it should be more than $1.50

I hope everyone on their taxes this year remember to get their $30-60 2006 Federal Excise Tax Credit.

In order for you to buy the phone, they're supposed to require you to get Power Vision.

maybe you got a Sprint plan that when compared to what you USE to have on Nextel will just look free. The old apples to oranges comparison.

I was very concerned when i got my Q to with the internet and SMS. I called them up and got unlimited Data for 15 bucks. Then unlimited SMS for 6 bucks. These seemed very cheap but, they assured me that it was the final price. I think verizon is like 50 bucks for what we get for 21bucks.

Is the unlimited data for SPrint the same as "Unlimited Data Plan for Phone as Modem"? When I tried to configure a Sprint Q for my area, that and SMS were the only options I could add on.

I added a Power Pack for $39.99 for 450 minutes
Power Vision for $39.99
Unlimited Power Pack Text Messages for $10

$39.99 + $49.99
then it subtracted $39.99 for "FREE TRIALS" (what's that and for how long?)
so my monthly charge subtotal before taxes was $49.99?

What are those FREE TRIALS?

sprint usually adds many of their upgrade services for free for 30 days. so that may be why she said internet was free. u definitely need to call a rep for clarification and make sure you are set up with the services you want.
