Default change button function and ......

hello

i just received my Q from sprint. i am coming over from a treo. i have grown acustom to having the center button start and end a call and was wondering if there is a custom setting that will allow me to redefine the use of the center button.

also i have seen pictures of the screen that show that a person has received a voice mail and it show a number. i would like to know the number of voice mails that i receive. can this be changed as well?

thanks in advance,
everard

not sure if you can change the center button, with AE Buttons http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php you can reassign buttons but not the center one (i think)

for the voice-mail notification, yes it can be added to the home screen by editing the .xml, here is a good tutorial about editing home screens: http://www.modaco.com/Tutorial-Creat...s-t233425.html
and here: http://www.kooldezine.com/Q.htm you can find Qool home screens pre-made (there are other sites but this one is one of the better ones imo)

oh, and welcome aboard..

RB--you think this would let me reassign a key (say the Voice Recorder) to XText?

Hm. It worked, but it seems to operate still as a "back" key until I back all the way to the Homescreen...then, it opens XText.

That's exactly what it does. You can assign keys to start apps, power down, etc. via one press, double press, triple press and long hold options. The Voice Recorder key was acting odd, so I changed to a Long Press of the up arrow starting XText (didn't wanna confuse anyone with XT LOL) and it starts it up w/o having to go back to the home screen. YAH!

She was a princess. She wanted to be a cat but I couldn't find a cat costume that fit. So, I talked her into wearing one of her princess dresses and added some ballet slippers, a tiara and a Disney Princess' mirror. VOILA!
