Cannot receive calls while using EVDO - Motorola Q Forum

Anyone else having trouble receiving calls while and EVDO session is in progress? The session is active either using Slingbox, streaming radio or browsing. When I call my Moto Q from a landline while EVDO is streaming the landline phone rings the normal 4 or 5 rings then goes to vm but the Moto Q never gets interrupted.

Can someone else with a Sprint Moto Q test to see if they can receive a call while the internet is streaming EVDO? Please.

I contacted Sprint Technical Support and they agree that I should be able to receive calls while a data session is in progress. They of course, had me do a master reset and test it that way. I did the test and it failed again, no call was received during a data session. Now I must return the phone to a sprint store so they can order a replacement if they find the same problem exists.

I just retested mine. It didn't ring while loading pages in IE.

Is anyone able to receive a call when you are on the internet? I could when I had the 700P. This is behaving the same as 1xRtt even though it is EVDO.

Uh-oh. Sounds like the Sprint Q has the same issue the 6700 (manufactured after 4/1/07) had...calls during an EVDO session don't interrupt the data.

I just activated my Sprint Q several minutes ago. Here's hoping calls will ring-through. That's one of the biggest advantages of EVDO...if it's not possible on the Q, people are going to go haywire (myself included).

I have also noticed this sometimes happens with my Sprint Q. I've tried it while loading pages and had both results though. Sometimes it will come though, others it won't. I wonder if the times it did eventually come through was when the page finally finished loading though. Very annoying.

Mine is letting calls thorugh while i am in the IE. Is there something else you would like me to try?

Are they coming through while you're actively sending/receiving data? Mine does when in PIE but not actively (as in a page loading) sending data. But if a page is loading it either won't ome through, or waits until the page is loaded to ring.

When i pick a large website and the status bar starts loading i oplace a call and it interupts the down load and when the call is finished it continues the download.

Maybe it is related to the location in the us, ie evdo hardware on the towers?
