I turned DDTM off. My phone doesn't even ring. It goes straight to VM. It doesn't matter if a page is loading or finshed loading. As long as I'm on EVDO it doesn't ring. Am I doing something wrong?

Yep, the problem still occurs after the update. I know it says it's supposed to fix it, but it doesn't.

It is a Sprint issue.
Ok, thanks for correcting me then.

Stupid Sprint!

*sigh*

I just got my Q.

I love the thing... until I realized that I can't receive calls while using data... seriously, WTF?

Anyway, I just tried the DDTM fix... and... it didn't work!

Argh!

I tried using the web and calling my phone... no luck. Can't receive calls.

EDIT: I read on sprintusers.com that the DDTM may only fix this problem with EVDO... not with normal Sprint PCS Vision. Great.

Now what?

Any help? I'm dyin' here...

If you don't have EVDO, you can receive calls while using data. You never have been on any CDMA phone that doesn't use EVDO. The older data technology, 1xRTT, will send your calls directly to voicemail when actively sending/receiving data. Nothing can be done about that, sorry.

So what you're saying is that it's impossible to receive a phone call on my Q while I'm doing ANY data transmission unless I'm in a major city (EVDO)? And that this is a feature and will never be "fixed"?

If so, this turns my "favorite device of all time" into a laughable piece of garbage and a waste of time and money.

It's a shame I already canceled my Verizon plan to come to sprint, just to get shafted.

Now I have to decide whether to return it or not, because why spend all this money on something that is inherently BROKEN?

I'm saying any phone on any CDMA carrier that uses 1x for data transfer will send your calls to voicemail when using data. It's not just the Q, any phone. It isn't something that can be fixed, it's a limitation of the technology used. Whether you have the VZW or Sprint Q, if you don't have EVDO calls will go to voicemail.

I have tried this with my Q and all that happens is I get sorry you have dialed an incorrect number. No menu opens up.

Am I an idiot or can the carriers change this function?
